Chapter 12

Sterlin's POV:

*Time Skip* 

It's been three days. Tomorrow is Kaiden's birthday but according to his no good father when his wings come in he'll be in a lot of pain for the next few days so Pops and I along with the help of Rose has planned a surpise party for Kaiden. Who is currently out at the movies with Cheza, Ashley, Meghan and Rose's grand daughter Mary; A sorta Girls plus Kaiden day out. Currently myself, pops and most of the pack are setting up the barbeque for tonight. Kaiden loves burgers and my dad makes the most absolute perfect cheese burgers so It works out. Rose and a few pack members are busy setting up the three picnic tables for all the food. What how else are you suppose to feed a pack house of over hundred and then the surrounding houses? Our omega Katie is in charge of organizing the presents. To be honest, I'm not sure why we call her the omega we don't treat her any different from the rest of the pack. Sure she might be a little slower and weaker than the rest, but she's great with the pups and always is looking to help out were she can. 

I walk over to her seeing she has a clipboard in her arms. And looks to be checking off a list. "Hey, Katie what you got there?" I ask peeking over her shoulder. "Just a list to make sure everyones brought a present for Luna. He's only been here a short while but he's too good for us. He deservses the best." She responses with a smile. I really like this girl, Kaiden and her have grown close I offered to allow her to go spend the day with Kaiden and the girls today but she said she'd rather help organize things. Who am I to argue with extra help. "So, Alpha have you picked out a present for Luna yet?" She asked, still checking names off the list. "I have actually but I have to go pick it up in just a couple of minutes. Mind doing me a favor while I'm gone?" I ask. 

"Sure, Alpha what do you need?" She asked finally looking up.

"The DJ should be here within half an hour can you tell him to just set up by the pool once he's here?" I ask.

"No problem. Don't worry we've got everything handled, you go and get Luna's present." She says with a wink. I chuckle lightly patting her on the back before I make my way back through the back yard and through the house. The smell of sweets baking in the kitchen invade my senses. "Something smells heavenly, Pops." I comment leaning on the doorframe of the kitchen. 

"Thank you sweetheart just finishing up the birthday cake; strawberry with vinilla icing." he says while frosting the sides of the large cake. 

"Well, I'm sure Kaiden will love it. So i'm off to pick up Kaiden present. If traffic isn't bad I should be back before Kaiden is. I give Pops a kiss on the cheeks before making my way out of the kitchen and outside to my new black Mercedes. Dad thought it'd be better that I have a car of my own since I have a mate now and sooner or later I'll be taking over as Alpha. I wasn't going to aruge there. Hopping in the drives seat I put the keys in the ignition. The sterio automatically turns on playing what's in the CD player. It's one of Kaiden's Evanescence CDs; One of his top favorite bands. I drive down the road listening to Amy Lee's haunting voice, drumming my fingers of the steering wheel. If I didn't know any better I'd think Amy Lee was a siren. A voice like that in a human is rare. After a few red lights and people crossing the road I pull into the mall parking lot. I don't have to worry about running into anyone here, because I told Cheza to keep Kaiden away from the mall. I make my way inside and to the pet store, walking to the cash register. A different person form last time is work, it's a skinny little red head, dressed in a black t-shirt with the store's logo on it and a name tag. She looks to be about 15. I walk up to her with a smile on my face.

"Hello, my name's Sterlin Pierce. You guys are holding a kitten for me." 

"Umm..yup just give me one second and I'll go get it from the the back." She says dismissing herself. I smile and nod politely before she turns to go through a door marked 'employee's only'. While she's gone I decide to look around I head over to the cages filled with baby rats. They're so cute with their furry bodies and long tails. I've always wanted a pet rat but Pops is terrifed of them so it was never really a possiblity in my house. About a minute passes before I see that the girl has reaturned with a small cat carrier sitting on the counter.
