It's just a phase (13)

It was 11AM on a Saturday morning. Dave had woken up and done his morning routine.
He was now in the kitchen eating breakfast with his family.

"So yeah, that's how I got a promotion."- His mom said talking to his dad.

"Oh that's lovely honey!"- The dad was excited for his wife.

"Dave honey, aren't you going to eat your pancakes?"- His mom looked at him concerned.

"Dave?"- His dad asked after he hadn't answered.

"Huh, what?"- Dave looked at them loosing his train of thought.

"She asked you if you were going to eat your pancakes."- One of his sisters said.

"Oh uhm yes mom, thank you."- He looked down at his plate.

"Why have you been so distracted lately?"- His dad asked.

"Not to mention your distance, why don't you talk to us sweetheart."- His mom looked at him with sympathy in her eyes.

"Well, I... am dating someone, and-"

"Oh you finally got a girlfriend."- His mom interrupted him happy and excited.

"Well... not necessarily."- Dave looked at them.

"What do you mean?"- They looked at him confused.

"Well, I uhm don't have a girlfriend, but a boyfriend. You guys know I'm bi, I literally told you years ago."- He already knew their reaction, but he really didn't care.

"We thought you got over that phase of yours."- His mom laughed.

"But mom it's not a phase."- He looked at her pissed.

"Well it's also not normal Dave, it's unnatural. So we expect better from you."- His dad said.

"I'm done."- He left to his room.

He hated how dumb and close-minded humans were, well not all of them but he really wanted to just kill all of the ones that were, but he knew Skeppy wouldn't like that.

Dave opened his window and just flew out. It was 6PM, so he had some time before going to Zaks' house, so he just sat at the top of the building thinking about everything.
