[I know, I know, I'm so sorry! And right after I promise a commenter to keep updating, I dip... Agh! I'll try to keep this book updated because I really enjoy writing this! School (and many other things...*ahem*) has not been kind to me this year.]

. . . . .

He was scared out of his mind, truthfully. Feliciano had never once seen himself as a knight-in-shining-armor type. He saw himself as a coward, and so did many people around him. Many of these insecure thoughts began running through his head, and he felt ready to give up, turn tail, and flee.

But when he looked up, he saw the castle far in the distance. He thought of [Name], her smile... holding back tears and biting his lip, he bucked the horse, charging as fast as he could toward the castle, to [Name].

Behind him, Feliciano could hear the thunderous voice of the sorceress stretching across the vast land: "A forest of thorns shall be his tomb. Born through the skies on a fog of doom! Now, go with the curse and serve me well! 'Round Stefan's castle, cast my spell!"

Above him, a pitch-black cloud of smoke with violet hues flew past him and swirled ominously atop the castle. Lightning struck parts of the castle's stone exterior, causing bits of it to crumble. As he neared the castle's drawbridge, the sky roared as a flash of light erupted from the sky and came crackling down onto the stone bridge From the cracks emerged a large, menacing thorn bush that quickly grew into a sea of thorns surrounding the castle walls. Lightning flashed in synchronously with the thorns in flashes of purple.

Feliciano quickly pulled on the reins of his horse, almost toppling over as the horse's hooves scraped against the gravel to avoid the thorns quickly sprouting around them. He quickly drew out his sword and swung aimlessly at the thorns, doing his best to reach the princess as the branches seemingly reached to grab and prick him.

He then began plummeting a few feet, failing to notice a small drop off. He fell from his steed, though quickly sprung to his feet and continued swinging as the sorceress' laugh rung in his ears. He picked up his horse's lead, following the fairies as they gestured to follow.

The fairies managed to lead the scraped and bruised prince to a clearing that led straight to the castle's entrance. Feeling relieved, he let out a heavy sigh and sprinted forward. Just as it all seemed well, the bridge a few feet away burst up in bright green flames, revealing a rather perturbed Maleficent at Feliciano's wake. The flames seemed to weave into her sleek black dress as smoke rose quickly around her.

"Now, shall you deal with me, old prince," she sneered, lifting her arms so that her tattered sleeves encapsulated her, "and all the powers of hell!"

The flames then grew and shot up at an alarming speed, Maleficent's menacing form seen floating up and shaping into that of a dragon. A dark, bellowing laugh could be heard as the dragon rose above the smoke, snapping its jaw and sneering down at the prince.

The prince, meanwhile, was almost completely shaken. His heart was beating so fast the only thing he could really hear was the ringing in his ears. He was shaking as he clutched his sword and shield tightly. He then closed his eyes, bit his lip so hard he could taste blood, and breathed.

He then opened his eyes and swung around on his heel, quickly leaping up to the saddle on his horse before riding on a straight path for the dragon. As he charges forward, the dragon rears back and blasts a jet of fire straight toward the prince.

Feliciano manages to raise his shield just in time to block the stream of fire, though he was knocked off his horse again in the struggle. Before he fully has time to stand, the dragon blasts another stream of fire, narrowly missing the stumbling prince, and part of the bridge between them crumbles.
