"What happened to our Cahira?"

"We can see through the CT Scan that she had a traumatic brain injury---to be specific, concussion."

I slowly opened my eyes because of the mumblings I heard. White lights greeted me first. After some seconds, my vision became clear.

What happened?

He just greeted with a lame smile.

Ugh! Why is my head throbbing so much?!

"Cahira, just lay down," Nathan said at dahan-dahan akong tinulak pahiga. I can sit! Why is he acting like I need some help?!

"No! I can sit on my own!" pagmamatigas ko at pinilit umupo pero mas sumakit lang lalo ang ulo ko dahilan para mapasigaw ulit ako. It hurts so fucking much!

"Don't be stubborn, young lady," lumapit na ang doctor at ilang nurse. My eyes grew wider as I recognized some faces at the back of the doctor.

"You can leave first.

"I'm not sick.

I rolled my eyes. These scene is not new to me. I'm the reaper, not the one to be reaped.

How dare her. Kapag na-discharge na ako, hu-hunting-in ko siya.

"I'm serious. You almost died," the doctor repeated.

"Just shut up and do the check-up quickly," sambit ko na lang. Ang dami pang satsat, eh. These doctors don't know me.

They don't have the right to predict my lifeline.

I looked at the window. The sun is shining brightly. I clenched my fist as I remembered what happened last night. That bastard. Kailangan ko siyang makita!

"Cahira."

I felt the shivers down my spine as a cold voice uttered my name. This is the first time that someone called me that way.

I am fearless. But this is an exception. However, I must not show any emotion on my face. I won't let someone threaten me. Even my own parents.

"Dad!" I greeted and smiled. Ilang beses na ba ako na-hospital? Usually, they'll greet me with a warm hug. What's with this act?

"Alam mo ba kung anong ginawa mo?" he asked, still using that cold tune. I rolled my eyes. What's this?

"Dad? Parang di mo alam. Drag racing is my thing. This is not new to you," I answered bravely. They know me naman. As if a single incident will kill me immediately. I'm almost immortal.

"You almost died!" my mother butted in. Ugh!

"But I'm still alive!" I shouted. They should have take care of me now. Sumasakit lang ulo ko sa kanila ngayon.
