The Truth

Kuwabara sat nervously at the restaurant with his nicest suit jacket and shirt, smelling as nice as possible and trying not to sweat the cologne away. Nothing had ever made him this nervous before, but seeing Yukina for the first time in years through everything he learned and prepared for out the window. Why had Urameshi called this date suddenly he didn't know, but he could never refuse. Kuwabara fixed his tie over and over and cleared his throat as he tried to breath normally, but he continuously held his breath.

Keiko first came into his sights and then Yukina came from behind her, a beautiful kimono that hugged her body, she looked exactly the same as he remembered her, possibly even more beautiful to him. She smiled at him as he stood his heart racing and beating so loud the sounds in the place vanished. Yusuke then walked up still in his usual clothing, nearly laughing as he shook his hand in front of Kuwabara's paralyzed face.

"Is he okay?" Yukina asked concerned.

"I think he's dead." Yusuke laughed.

"Oh leave him alone. I think it's cute he still looks at her the same way after all this time." Keiko replied smiling as he held her hands in front of her. sweetly.

"I...Um...Yukina." Kuwabara finally came to his senses and bowed, grabbing her hand as he leaned down to her. "You look so gorgeous my love. It's been to long."

"Oh Kuwabara I didn't know you cared." Yusuke teased, causing Kuwabara to stand up straight and punch Yusuke in his mouth.

"Shut it Urameshi I am talking to my future wife here." Once everyone was seated and now having their meals. Kuwabara noticed Yusuke's eyes continuing to dart to the window. "So now that everything else is out the way what do you really want Urameshi?"

Yusuke's eyes opened widely and innocently. "What I just wanted to sit with my best friend. Why would that be some sort of agenda behind it? It's innocent honest."

Kuwabara still wasn't buying it. "You are lying through your teeth Urameshi." Then he gasped as he leaned closer to Yusuke. "Has something happened?"

"Well..." Yusuke started to say, but Kuwabara loud gasp took him completely off guard.

"I knew it!" He screamed out. "You are going to propose to Keiko aren't you? And of course I will be your best man. It all makes perfect sense."

Yusuke nearly fell out of his seat as the happy look on Keiko's face made him feel bad now. That was the last thing on his mind. "No. That's not..."

"Yusuke you sly devil. Is that why you been so secretive with me for the last couple of days?" Keiko got up from her seat and hugged Yusuke as she sat in his lap.

"No!" Yusuke screamed.

Keiko kissed him shutting him instantly before he could object even more. The kiss was passionate and caused Keiko to blush as everyone started to stare at them as she slowly backed away apologizing. Yukina smiled and clapped her hands together.

"Congratulations you too. You both have been through so much and to be together this long is really an accomplishment. I'm so happy for you too."

Yusuke got up from the booth. "I need some air." He had to leave before he could make a complete fool of himself in front of everyone.

Hiei watched the scene unfold from a safe distance with his Jargan eye. He scoffed saying fool under his breath. As he continued to scan the area where Yukina resided he felt the connection, an energy he never felt, something he couldn't explain. Demon, no human, no Spirit world energy. Somehow his eye couldn't find the culprit though. Hiei cursed and jumped into the air disappearing as he did so to protect his sister from whatever seemed to be stalking her.
