The Heart Orb

Rin looked around the group with shock on their faces especially Hiei's face. Something was oddly suspicious about his expression and his response to the news. Why did he attack her out of nowhere? He was still looking at her like a threat when she clearly wasn't trying to harm them. The fact that they believed she was out to harm Yukina of all people was rather hurtful.

"How is that possible?" Hiei asked, through clenched teeth, his hands still holding his sword ready to slice her throat if needed. "Tell me." He took a step closer to Rin, threatening.

Yukina caused him to pause. "Please Hiei listen to her. It's true." She looked away from him ashamed then as her eyes started to tear up. "I'm sorry I kept this from you. It's the reason why I left to go back to demon world."

"Perhaps I should explain how I came about. Over tea perhaps to calm everyone nerves." Rin grinned, hopeful the group would take her upon her offer. Everyone looked at each other then before agreeing. "Good. Let's go back to the cafe then."

Before long they were all sitting at a big booth, Yukina, Rin, Keiko on one side and the boys on the other. Hiei uncomfortable being in the cafe sat by the window incase he needed to escape quickly, but to intrigued and curious to not stay to listen. The waiter brought them all their drinks of their choice and they were all quiet for a moment waiting for Rin to continue.

"So I suppose I should start with what you should already know. Hina, our mother killed herself after giving birth to a fire demon son hence our brother and Yukina, but what you may not have known was..."Rin looked down her hand started to clench at the memories that stained her heart. "Our father, Rizo, found her body, kept her from decaying while he looked for a way to bring her back."

Hiei's eyes bucked open. "Rizo, the fire demon?" Something clicked in his head that he didn't even bother to look for his father. He had heard tales of the great fire demon, but was so consumed with hate he didn't never think about it.

"You heard of him?" Rin asked, suspiciously at him. Hiei looked away from him.

"Who hasn't?" The rest of the table rose their hands sadly to his question. "Hm. Fools."

"Rizo and Hina were secretly in love once she left the Ice compound they met while on one of his raids and the rest is history or so he told me. Anyways for years and years Rizo tried to find someway to bring his love back and he did...with the Heart Orb, stolen from Koenma's easy attainable fortress."

Yusuke sat up then after placing his drink down. "Wait you know about the Heart Orb?" He asked. "We are looking for it."

Rin nodded. "After Rizo took it he used the heart orb to revive Hina..."

"Is she alive now?" Hiei asked, suddenly. "If she has the orb we can take it from her." He recovered by wanting to be the heartless fien he set his reputation out to be, but really he was hoping he had the chance to meet his mother.

Kurama looked over to his friend, speaking with him in his mind."Alot must be going through your mind right now Hiei. A sister you didn't know about, a father you never knew. This must be hard for you to handle."

"I'm fine." Hiei retorted.

Rin frowned then. "Do you plan on killing the one with the Heart Orb?" Her eyes glanced at Yusuke and then Kurama for the truth, knowing for some reason he would tell her through the compassion in his eyes.

"It's only our job to find who has the Heart Orb. The other orbs are becoming dark because of it. If those Orbs become dark it would open the doorway to all realms to collide and be in danger." Yusuke explained.
