Chapter 1 (The beginning of cupcake)
The summer of 1990:
It was like any other BBQ the Andersons had thrown every summer break which were known to be non missable by their local neighbourhood.
The sun shined brightly over the cooked food that many smiling and humorous faces surrounded while the smell of burning meat and cheap beer and fizzy drinks filled the air mixed with the joyful atmosphere, where children’s yells were encourage by a game of tag.
Which Peter Andersons absolutely always found himself to be an expert at with his lanky body and sparrow like legs while his blonde spiky hair was covered by his He Man cap .
“Tag!” Peter yelled in excitement as he pushed his short spectacle friend to the lush grassy floor
“That’s not fair Pete! your too fast….plus! your older then me.” Joe yelled while catching his breath.
“Whatever Joe just because you’re nine and I’m ten doesn’t make me the faster one…I’m just born that way.”
Peter spoke never looking prouder at his achievements with the biggest of smiles on his face which was stopped by his stomach as it began to cry due to the best game of tag in his life.
“I’m gonna get something to eat, see you later Slow Joe!” He yelled while making his way over to the food display, it was late in the afternoon which didn’t leave much at the picnic table his mother had prepeard earier that day.
“Mom never makes enough food.” Peter moaned as he searched the nearly empty table when something grabbed his eye.
A cupcake, with bright blue icing and little chocolate chips on top covering the chocolate sponge underneath which tempted Peter with it's sweet looks.
As he went to grab the yummy treat a small chubby hand clashed with his. Peter jumped not being aware of the person next to him, his eyes quickly followed the small chubby hand up the arm to see the owner that wanted that cupcake as badly as he did.
He found the small round face of a little girl, which held bright rosie cheeks and big brown doe eyes that filled her chubby face while surrounded by a wild mane a curly brown hair that reached just under her ear. Upon looking at the little girl she snatched her hand back in panic of his stare.
Her eyes began to water from fear while her bottom lip began to tremble, Peter stared at her looking down at her frilly bright yellow summer dress which made her look even more like some kind of china doll which was about to break under the pressure.
He looked back at the cupcake then back at her as she still stood there frozen on the spot like a game of stick in the mud which made him give out a small giggle.
The little girl gasped at his giggle and was about to take off running in the other direction when Peter began shaking his head quickly.
“Hey I ain’t gonna hurt you, I’m not a monster honest, cross my heart.” He spoke quickly trying to calm her so his parents wouldn’t come over as he made a x shape across his heart. The girl stopped still looking at him with caution as he looked at the cupcake once more.
“You want it?” The little girl didn’t reply still watching his every move as she used her hand to twist the end of her puffy dress.
“Can’t you speak?…Here.” He said as he grabbed the cupcake stretching his arm out in her direction.
