Chapter 5: Sabriye's Choice

Everyone, except Admiral Tarung, Commander Kokoci and Captain Kaizo, are shocked to hear such offer. "I-I beg your pardon," Sabriye stuttered. Admiral cracked a smile in amusement and repeated, "We were wondering if you would like to join TAPOPS."

Sabriye realised that she wasn't hallucinating. It was all real. They were letting her join TAPOPS! Her dream of joining this organisation was finally coming true. Sabriye wanted to fangirl so badly but knew better than to embarrass herself. However, she was visibly shaking. Noticing that, Admiral Tarung and Commander Kokoci chuckled while Captain Kaizo kept his smile.

Admiral Tarung grabbed her shoulder to calm her down and let Commander Kokoci do the talking, "We can tell that you wanted to join TAPOPS, considering that you're a fan of ours. And seeing your exceptional skills, we think you are suited to be a member."

Sabriye, being her modest self, replied, "Umm... I didn't do much during that battle, though." Admiral Tarung, Commander Kokoci and Captain Kaizo still kept their smile. They were starting to like Sabriye. "It may have not been much, yes, but it was enough to show us your potential," Captain Kaizo replied.

"So, are you willing to join TAPOPS?" Commander Kokoci asked. Sabriye thought for a moment and answered, "Well, it depends on my parents." The minute those words were spat out, she had the look of panic on her face. She realised one thing - she didn't tell her parents that she was at TAPOPS Station at all since she got there.

Noticing her sudden behaviour, they were wondering what happened. Once she told them her situation, Fang commented with a smirk, "Huh. Never knew you would be forgetful." Instead of denying it, like he expected her to, she accepted the fact that she can be forgetful. "But I still think that Boboiboy is the most forgetful one here," Sabriye added, hearing a protest from Boboiboy himself.

"Oh please, remember you keep forgetting about the camping trip a few years ago?" Sabriye retorted. There was silence - an uncomfortable and tensed silence. Sabriye realised what she said and apologised for bringing it up.

"It's fine. I'll admit I did forget. But, hey, at least I didn't forget about the picnic at the beach," Boboiboy replied, trying to lighten the mood. Earning a nod in agreement from Sabriye and the rest of the gang (A/N: I will be calling Boboiboy, Fang, Yaya, Ying and Gopal the gang now).

Back to the issue at hand, Sabriye asked if she was allowed to make a call for her parents. Admiral Tarung, Commander Kokoci and Captain Kaizo glanced at each other and nodded in approval. "You may head to the main wing. You can call from there," Admiral Tarung informed.

"Yes, Admiral," Sabriye replied, doing the TAPOPS salute, catching them off guard, and ran for the main wing, only to return, walking backwards. "Can someone please guide me there? I don't know the directions," Sabriye asked sheepishly.

The gang and the higher-ups, who had been snapped out of their trance, chuckled in amusement and Fang responded, "Can't say we blame ya. Come on, I'll show you the way," gesturing to Sabriye to follow him to the main wing. The rest of the gang came with, followed by Admiral Tarung, Commander Kokoci and Captain Kaizo.

Sabriye was getting worried - when they find out about what happened to her, what will they say? Will they allow her to stay or come back home? Sabriye knew she had always wanted to be a part of TAPOPS, even if she knew the risks that came along with it, which are getting hurt and, in a worse case, death. At least, Admiral Tarung and Commander Kokoci could give her days off.

However, she also knew that if they allowed her to choose, she would stay at TAPOPS. If they didn't and wanted her to come back home, she would have to argue with them or she might have to give in. This whole thing was bugging her on the way to the main wing.

'Let's hope things would go smoothly,' Sabriye wished and headed to the main wing with the gang and the higher-ups.
