"Ayano c'mon! We gotta move before the good seats get taken!"
Y/n excitedly dragged her friend through the crowd of people towards the stadium. Ayano snorted as she allowed herself to be pulled around by the sleeves,
"Y/n, a reminder that we're here to watch the girls? Hello?? You're here with me to see if there are any promising GIRLS??" She waved a hand in y/n's face, causing the other girl to roll her eyes over her shoulder.
Y/n huffed and crossed her arms in a pout, "I know I know, but can't we go say hi at least? Unlike you I haven't seen Mae or anybody in a while."
"Uhuh and who's fault is that?" Ayano pursed her lips and stared pointedly at y/n, who immediately dropped her gaze and shoved her hands into her pockets.
They stood like that for a while until Ayano sighed and broke into a light smile,
"Go, it's not like I can catch you if you bolted anyways. Just, be careful not to say something you'll regret."
Y/n nodded before turning and speeding through the crowd. She stumbled through groups of spectators, cheer squads, and players alike until she turned a corner and accidentally collided with someone.
"OOF"
"Oh my god I am so sorry- Aran??!" Y/n's face lit up immediately at the sight of her friend.
"Y/n! How have you been?" He smiled down at her. "Here to watch the twins as well?"
Y/n nodded, "I missed all of you so much, who else is here?"
"Shinsuke and Mae are already there-"
"Sitting far away from the cheer squad." Y/n finished with him, she broke into a short laugh. Ever since they witnessed the school's cheer squad booing their own player, Mae and y/n harboured a strong dislike for them and often opted to sit as far away as possible.
They walked together into the gymnasium, where people were excitedly chattering about their favoured teams and players warmed up on the courts. Y/n pondered silently and chewed on her lip, 'How am I going to tell them?'
"I know that look, what's going on?" Aran raised an eyebrow.
Y/n opened her mouth to reply but instead of words a cry burst out as a force tackled her onto the ground. Aran whistled awkwardly as a handful of people paused to glance down at the girls.
"L/N Y/N YOU REALLY ARE ALIVE." Mae yelled, throwing her hands up.
Y/n laughed and wrapped her arms around the third year, "I missed you too."
"Mae, what did I tell you about running off?" A disapproving voice echoed from behind them.
Both girls turned to see a frowning Kita, panting slightly from chasing after Mae. Y/n grinned and greeted him as the four made their way to their seats. The Inarizaki boys were already well into their rematch against Karasuno, y/n spotted the twins and she smirked to see them tricky as ever. She leaned forward to prop her chin on her hands, eyes falling to the #10 marking the back of their middle blocker.
Mae teasingly poked y/n's side, "How long has it been?"
Y/n's gaze didn't waver as he spiked a ball past Tsukishima, earning his team yet another point.
"I should go." Y/n's mood plummeted as she started to rise from her seat. A hand caught her wrist and y/n looked back to see three worried faces.
"You're going to leave without even speaking to them?" Kita asked, his concerned eyes searched her face.
