"Well-" Armin dragged in a suspicious high-pitched tone before spluttering, "Hey! Look, this seems terrifying! You wanna watch it? Let's watch it!" (A/N Mhm okay hunny)
Erwin seemed to have smiled proudly to himself, but the opening music made me jump. The screeching violins that sounded oddly familiar tensed the scene. Levi took off his jacket and placed it carefully on the desk chair before laying on his stomach next to me. I felt his eyes on me for a moment.
He scoffed, "Mind sharing, brat? You're stealing all the blankets."
I loosened the binding cave and opened it for the raven, puzzling, "You want to share with me?"
Armin and Erwin somewhat looked over to Levi, seemingly waiting for his response. The world, I noticed, slowed and revolved around Levi as I and everything alive hitched a breath.
"Shut it, brat. I don't need to explain myself! So, just fork it over."
He snatched the edge of the covers to snuggle into my childish blanket sleeping bag right next to me. He tried to make clear that space was to stay between us by awkwardly leaning away from me. However, when the two in front of us had refocused on the movie, he moved against me. I glanced over at him to meet his stormy eyes.
He held his hand out in the same way from before, eager to hold mine. I struggled my hand out of the blanket binds and placed it in his, thinking he still needed some comfort. I furrowed my brow at him in utter confusion, familiar to asking him what happened. It occurred to me that maybe that story with his parents was true. Suddenly, he brought our grip to his lips and tenderly kissed the back of my hand while maintaining bold eye contact with me. His kiss sent a shot of adrenaline through my arm like a sweet poison that was nicely killing me.
My heart pounded into my eardrums as my brain tried to comprehend the dramatic change in Levi's behavior. I couldn't assume he was flirting with me because he made it evident of his hatred for me since he moved here. The room seemed to close in around me as the covers appeared to tighten around Levi and me, bringing us dangerously close.
I saw the corner of his mouth raise into a Mona Lisa smile as he sweetly squeezed my palm. Whether it was lust, fear, or utter instinct controlling my movements, I pulled our hands closer and repeated the same gentle affection. We stared at each other with a bemused kind gaze, slightly piecing together what this meant--if it meant anything at all to him.
Breaking the silence, Armin announced, " I think I might go pop some popcorn."
Before Armin or Erwin turned around to face me and Levi, the raven immediately released my hand and jolted away from me like he didn't want the pair to know. I huffed and pulled my hand back under me, slightly annoyed at the sudden repluse of any relationship between us.
"Sure, sounds good," I commented. "It's on the top shelf in the pantry. We only have Kettle corn."
"Eren, I've been here so often I know that your secret stash of Nutty Bars is hidden in the bottom of the freezer in an empty Digiorno box." He pointed out, heading for the door.
Covering my face to hide my embarrassment, I whined, "Don't tell them! They'll infiltrate my supply!"
Erwin jumped up and darted out the door, shouting, "Armin, let's attack!"
They took off downstairs, laughing and tripping over each other to reach the freezer first. I tried to get up and chase after them, but a strong force pulled me back by the collar. I fell into Levi's chest and was soon trapped in his embrace. I felt his face cuddle in my back sweetly as he took a long deep breath and sighed.
"Okay," I began, "we need to talk. Earlier today, you punched my lights out and gave me this."
I pointed to the scratches on the side on my face and continued, "Mikasa is going to flip out, asking 'did Levi do this' and 'why won't you tell your mom' over and over again. All of a sudden, you're holding my hand and cuddling with me. What happened to make you so clingy?"
"I don't wanna talk about it right now," Levi mumbled tiredly.
He squeezed my torso which caused me to recoil from his grip and pull his arms back. I groaned quickly in pain at the pressure against my hidden bruises. I sat up and somewhat stretched to try and ease the ache, but it didn't do much. Levi gave me a nonchalant worried expression as he studied me grunt with each movement.
"What's wrong?" Levi interrogated, sitting up next to me.
I gave him a sarcastic eye-roll along with an echo of, "What's wrong?"
"Don't you remember how you pushed me to the ground?" I fumed, crossing my arms, annoyed at him for even asking. "How about when you slammed me into a concrete wall? Maybe you can recollect how you nearly pulled my arm out of its socket. Does 'I saw your blonde boy-toy give you a five today. Fork it over.' ring any bells?"
Levi grabbed my neck fiercely and growled, "You don't have to spell it out for me, brat. Watch it!"
My throat stung as I felt a terrifying pop in my neck. Levi finally decided to let go and let me breathe. I coughed out and wheezed, placing a hand on my chest instinctively. I took a few more breaths before checking if the bully had done any real damage. Luckily, it was nothing nasty, but it might've bruised later.
"What am I supposed to do, Levi?" I intoned. "I can't read you when your actions are bipolar."
"Look, I said I was sorry!" He shot. "What the hell do you want from me?"
I felt my eyes sting as frustrated tears brimmed my eyes. I paused before quietly answering, "I want you to stop hurting me! I want you to tell me straight--why are you so nice to me now? What do you want from me?"
"I want you to shut up!"
He softened his voice and whispered for only me to hear, "and date me."
