Brown eyes met blue eyes. I could hear the waves crashing on the shore as I fell into his arms. We stood still, hugging for a moment. Although I never wanted it to end, I pulled away reluctantly. He kissed my cheek softly and I felt chills running down my spine. I had never loved someone so much so fast. We sat down in the warm sand and talked of many things. He turned to look out across the big ocean blue and the sun hit him perfectly making him look so much more beautiful than he was before. I didn't think that was even possible. How could a girl like me have been so lucky? In that moment he turned back to me. His smile had faded and he wore a slight frown. He told me that we wouldn't last much longer, that he was leaving soon. I couldn't help myself from crying. He cradled me, stroking my long dark brown hair. Later he left... and he did not come back in days or even weeks. He didn't meet me at the beach every day like he had and I eventually gave up hope that he would ever come back. I still miss him greatly. My little summer romance had come to an end and I had the rest of summer to reflect on it.
