"Ooh, I just had the best idea!" Tyler exclaims. "We should all go on a double date." I look at him feeling unsure. Double dates aren't really my thing.
"I'm okay with that," Connor says looking at me and smiling.
"Sounds good to me," Troye agrees. All the boys look at me waiting to hear my feedback.
"That's fine by me," I answer not wanting to let everyone down. Once I utter those words Connor's smile grows even bigger his eyes sparkling.
"Alrighty then meet us at... uhhh..." Tyler takes forever to decide on anything so we are standing there for a good 30 minutes... or maybe 40... I don't know. "How about... uhh... no, no wait I got this! Uhhh... how about Ruby Tuesdays?"
"Sounds okay to me," Troye sighs obviously relieved that Tyler has finally made his decision.
After a few more minutes of talking Tyler and I go one way and Connor and Troye go the other.
"Tyler?"
"Yup?"
"Are you so sure a double date was the best idea?"
"Well why not? I like Troye and you like Connor so BOOM perfect." He smiles at me waiting for me to say something.
"Yes... but double dates are hard," I stammer. Tyler stares at me.
"Harder than regular dates?"
"Yes."
"How so?"
"Well... on double dates you have to try to look good in front of 3 people instead of just 1," I explain. Tyler's face breaks out into a smile; then he laughs a little. I stare back not understanding what's so funny.
"That's what you're worried about? Looking good?"
"Well yeah, I like Connor and I want to look good in front of him. Plus I don't want to ruin anything for you and Troye."
"Listen, Soph... honestly I can see that Connor won't care. He's really cool and really in to you. You don't need to worry," Tyler assures me. Tyler may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but he always knows what to say.
"You really think so?"
"I know so," he says giving me a small hug. "Now go get ready you have 2 hours."
CONNOR'S POV
I unpack all of my clothes arranging them in the dresser provided by the hotel. This is the place I stayed with my grandfather the last time I visited Adelaide weeks ago.
"What should I wear?" Troye asks pulling random clothes out of his suitcase. He holds up two shirts.
"All I know is you shouldn't wear the red one." I laugh and he looks a little hurt.
"What's wrong with the red one?" he whines.
"Well first off its a sweater... we are in Australia... remember? That should be reason enough not to wear it."
Troye smiles, "Fine I'll wear the yellow then." He gets up and runs to the bathroom.
I stand up and change into a plain gray T-shirt and I try to fix my hair from being so messy.
Troye walks back in. "Trying to dress to impress huh?" I nod yes. "Don't stress too much."
SOPHIE'S POV
What in the fucking world am I supposed to wear for something like this?! I can't show up too fancy and everyone else be casual. Also I can't show up too casual and everyone else be fancy! Girl problems suck.
I rummage through my closet desperately trying to find something. Maybe I have something that's in between. Not too casual but not too fancy. I glance at the clock and see I have 30 minutes. I should have really done this before I fell asleep. Finally I find an orange and white sun dress.
After I throw the dress on I make my way to the bathroom to put on a little make up. I hate make up but why not? I mean just a little for Connor can't hurt.
6 minutes of me trying to apply lipstick, mascara, and blush and I still look horrible. Guess I'm going to have to do without make up tonight. I wipe all the gross stuff off with a tissue and toss the trash into the trash bin.
Next I brush my hair trying my best to keep it from being frizzy. After I'm threw messing with the monstrosity that is my hair, I go into the kitchen. Darn my mom.
"What are you doing here?" I question realizing I must sound stupid asking such a question.
"I live here," she answers continuing to cut up some vegetable... probably a cucumber. I can't really see well she's in the way.
"Right... I knew that," I mumble.
"Honey?"
"Mhm?" She stares at me, "Sorry I meant yes mom?"
"I hear you're going on a date in a few minutes."
"How did you..."
"Forget it," she interrupts. I stare in confusion. "You're not going." Talk about mood swings.
"What?!"
"You heard me," my mom says walking out of the kitchen. "Connor's not good for you."
"Oh come on! You don't even know him. You haven't even met him once!" I yell in disbelief. Did my mother just ban me from seeing Connor?
"He left and then he came back. He's going to leave again. He can't stay here forever. All he's going to do is play with your emotions."
I lay my head on the kitchen table hot tears running down my cheeks. Why is my mom so stupid and misunderstanding? What did I do to deserve her? Then I hear the doorbell ring. I open the door and find Tyler standing there with Connor and Troye.
"Are you ready?" Tyler asks. Troye and Connor look so excited and ready to go.
"Um... actually my..." I stop and look into Connor's sparkling eyes. "Yes... yeah I'm ready," I stammer hurrying out the door.
Sophie you bad girl! You breaking your momma's rules! Shame! :) lolz hope you guys are liking it so far.
