Jess POV
"What the HECK!! I give up!" Evie (pronounced E•V), short for Evelyn, fumed as she stomped out of quiz bowl practicing in my library. She's my best friend and all but once while... WOW, just wow.
We had just asked the question "What veggie is top rated in the US"
I had said the CORRECT answer, leafy greens, but no according to Miss Evie over here the answer was broccoli and you don't say ANYTHING bad about broccoli, ever. She goes all ninja on you if you do. I've learned this in the few years I've known her. And let me tell ya it ain't pretty.
(A/N: in case you didn't notice Evie LOVES broccoli)
Evie and I had been waiting to try out for the quiz for a few years. For a while I just had too much to do, with basketball and all, but finally we got in and tomorrow was the big day! We had practiced like beasts but once in a while we'd get something wrong. I guessed I probably should get to bed since I didn't think Evie would be coming back and after all it was 10:00 pm.
