Chapter 7

I wiped the tears from my eyes and ran by Luke's side. He gave me a comforting smile. I saw Hikari out of the corner of my eye give him a soft glare. I don't think Hikari likes Luke very much. I turn to look at Luke. "Have you battled yet?"
"Yes, I was in the first fights. At the same time as yours, but I finished just before you."
"So what do we do now while we wait for the other competitors to get done with their challenge?" Soren asked.
"I mean, it is the end of our trials for today so we have the rest of the day to explore and rest." Hikari said, "Maybe we should all go claim our room first?"
"Okay, sounds good." Luke gave a thumbs up. Soren and I agreed too. We go across another bridge over a rushing waterfall. It was at least the length of a football field. At the end, there's another wooden building. It was the hotel for all the competitors in The Tryouts. We enter and go to the front desk.
"Hello, could we get a room for four people?" I asked.
"Of course, here's the keys for room number seven. Ninth door upstairs on the right. Enjoy your stay!" The desk lady handed me the keys.
"Let's go!" Soren runs down the hall and up the stairs. Sometimes I wonder how he's going to make it in school if we get there with the "No running in the halls" rule. We go up the stairs and see that Soren passed the hotel room.
"Soren, too far!" Hikari yells while I unlock the room. I open the door and Soren runs in before all of us just barely. He jumped on the top bunk of one of the two bunk beds.
"I call top! "He yells.
"I call the top bunk too!" Hikari said, jumping onto the top of the other bunk bed. She laughed. Then that means that Luke and I get to the bottom bunks.
"Alright then." I sigh. After we finished looking at what the room had and changed into comfier clothes, Soren calmed down. "I'm bored, what are we gonna do now?" Soren asked.
"Let's go explore!" Hikari suggested. I heard this place has a lot of tourist attractions. It sounded like a fun idea.
"Wait a minute, let me summon Cloud." She said,
"Oh yeah, good idea." Soren gets down on the floor next to Ari. She makes those weird symbols in the dragon on the ground, then says something in ancient dragon language. Soren just uses a normal summoning spell. Cloud jumps out of the blinding light in the middle of the room and onto Ari's shoulder. Soren watched her for a moment, then did the same as his owl flew gracefully onto his shoulder out of the light.
"Okay, we're ready. Let's go!" Soren said, running out the door and down the hall with Buckles.
By the time we get outside, he's all the way across the bridge and sitting down with his owl.
"Wait for us, Soren!" Hikari yells. Soren looked at us, but I don't think he heard it from all the way over there. We take our time going across the bridge, since we still had at least five hours before nightfall. We take the step onto the grass, and Soren gets up on his feet, ready to start running without us again.
"What was it that you said earlier?" He asked.
"That you need to slow down and wait for us!" I made an angry face at him. He jumped back a foot.
"I got it, okay. I'll slow down and wait for you." He said nervously. We continue the way we came from earlier. Back until the room where we started with the plants and vines everywhere. We go the opposite way we went last time, which was to the tourist attractions. There were so many things to do there, and only one day to do it! The Aquarium, carnival games, mini contests, and so many more things! We all just sit there in amazement.
"What should we do first?" I asked everyone.
"Maybe the aquarium so that we could do the rides and stuff later?" Luke suggested.
"Okay!" Soren agreed. Ari and I nod our heads. We went in there, which started in a pitch black tunnel.
"Where'd everyone go?!" Soren freaked out. He touched my shoulder, putting his arms out.
"Ahhh! Monster." He yelled. I heard a thud on the wall. I try not to laugh.
"We're right here, you idiot!" I insulted, "It's just me." I couldn't see either. We kept walking, then the tunnel opened up into a big glass dome with fish of all species swimming everywhere.
"Woah . . ." Soren falls back in amazement. Ari ran away from us and up to the side of the dome. She gasped. "Guys look, there's a shark!" We all ran over to her to see it.
"Ooo, cool!" Soren exclaimed. Luke looked away at the other fish swimming around.
Soren had his nose pressed up against the glass, looking at the shark still. The shark looks at him, then bites the glass. He falls onto his butt with his mouth wide open. "What-" Ari and I laugh at him.
