02 | nothing but laughter

-Chapter Two-

The sounds of birds chirping filled the empty room, [name] shifted rolling to her side as her eyes fluttered open. The view of her room in her line of vision. After coming back from the states her mom had applied her to "Sunny High School", the same high school her brother went to.

[name] lazily got up from her bed, excited to go to school but her lack of sleep due to jet lag overpowered her excitement. Even if [name] was dead tired, she still wanted to experience the school life she missed out on.

While [name] was in the states, she had gotten treated for her sickness. Since [name] was always in the hospital getting treated she had missed out on most of her school life but had gotten home schooled by her tutor that her mom had hired.

Though her mom was a doctor, her mom had thought that getting treatment in the United States would have held more benefit with their more high-tech technologies. Not to say Korea has bad technologies. After getting cured and only needing the yearly check up, it was finally the time [name] could head back to Korea.

Getting up from bed, she opened the door of her room and walked out to the kitchen. As she got closer to the kitchen, she could hear the faint noise of the sink running and the dishes clashing against each other.

"[name] you're up? Go get changed and head to school with your brother. He'll show you                   the way to school since you're new."

[name]'s mother said looking back at [name] before adjusting her ponytail and pushing up her glasses. Drying her hands, [name]'s mom put on her coat and got ready to go to work.

Jay glanced at [name], worried but happy for her that she finally got to go to school after 10 years of being home schooled. [name] noticing Jay's constant glances at her, she said

"Jay, you don't have to be worried; I'll be fine. Plus, mom said I'd be in your class so you can              look out for me!"

A smile on [name]'s face as she looked up at Jay to see Jay's face relax and with a slight nod, Jay agreed with [name]'s statement. The rest of the walk to Sunny High School being relatively peaceful.

Finally reaching the front gates of Sunny High, Jay and [name] continued walking to their class. Jay leading the way to their class when Minu tackled Jay, ruffling Jay's hair in the process. Minu looked at Jay and then at [name], a confused look on his face.

"Who's this? Your girlfriend? You guys seem pretty close..."

Minu asked Jay, slight amusement in his voice. Throwing a glare at Minu, Jay retorted back, stating that [name] was his sister that had come back from the states after many years. With that they all walked to class, Minu starting a conversation with [name]. [name] laughing in the process, already liking the start of the school day.

The sound of laughter filled the air, joy filled [name]'s heart. Maybe this new life that [name] was going to experience wasn't going to be so bad. Only the sound of students chattering and feet pattering on the ground could be heard with the bright sun shining down on them.

this was something she could get used to.
