Persia took another swig of vodka. She had experienced feelings she had never felt before with Alec. But there were also bad times, he had a temper. And let's not forget the fact he had literally been dragged to hell! But something about him, made her miss him so much.
She hadn't been to college for a couple of days so she decided to show her face. "Where have you been? Look at the state of you, come with me!" Lexi said shooing Persia into a nearby bathroom. She was a wreck. Persia had her hair scraped back into a bun, with yesterday's dry mascara plastered halfway down her cheeks. She was as pale as death, wearing the same clothes she woke up in; a pair of leggings with a hole in the knee, and one of Alec's jumpers. "What the fuck happened?" Lexi said, opening up her handbag and pulling out her makeup, scattering various products along the bathroom sink. Persia couldn't exactly tell her what was going on, so kept quiet. Lexi grabbed Persia's said and turned it to face her. After about twenty minutes of brushing and powdering, Persia looked presentable-ish.
After college, Persia ran home, after she managed to convince herself this was all a mistake and that Alec would be sitting there when she got back, sprawled out on the sofa smoking a spliff. But when she got home all she saw was emptiness. She trudged into the bathroom and with a wet paper towel she scraped all the makeup off caking her face. She didn't care what she looked like, She only cared about Alec, and the very real idea that he may be suffering in actual hell. Persia collapsed into the sofa and sighed. Nothing was the same. She leaned over to grab the remote for the tv and noticed there was a joint in the ash try. Gingerly, she picked it up, hands shaking slightly. She put it to her lips, and picked up the lighter. Persia inhaled deeply. It managed to calm her down eventually. She could see why Alec always had one around him. Alec.. She had almost forgotten about him for an entire minute.
She must've dozed off because when she woke up she had a plan. She downed half a bottle of vodka for courage, and ran out of the apartment. She had three thoughts. Thought number one, are you seriously doing this over a guy? A guy you barely knew, and also, yeah he is a ghost. Thought number two, why didn't you think of this before? and thought number three, what if it doesn't work? Fuck it. she was so intoxicated she could barely think straight let alone walk, but she managed to get to the elevator. She pressed the button and threw up in the corner of the lift. Persia held onto the handrail until she got to her floor. She carefully stepped out. She was on the top floor of the apartment building. Suddenly everything became clear to her as she opened the window, leading out onto the roof. Her hands stopped shaking and she smashed the finished vodka bottle she was holding. She was excited, because she knew she was going to see him again.
She lined up her toes with the edge of the building. And then, she jumped.
For a moment she was soaring through the air and felt limitless. But then she heard the flapping of wings and was suddenly she was being held and carried back to the apartment building. "Nice try," Dimitheri chuckled.
