As soon as class was dismissed, I walked out as fast as I could with my head down making sure to steer clear of any other students that were in my way. And avoid Mr. Shaw.
Or maybe I could call him River?
"Hey! Wait!" I hear a voice scream. The same accented voice that I heard for the last hour and a half.
I walk faster.
"Slow down, yeah?" He asks as he grabs onto my arm, making my bag drop off my shoulder... again. Why didn't I zip it before I left?
I huff, bending down to collect the fallen items.
"I'm sorry. Let me help you." He bends down in front of me, beginning to put my stuff back into my bag. I glance at him as he focuses on putting everything back where it belonged. I smile and look back down.
"I just keep bothering you don't I?" He laughs as we both stand with my bag in our hands. Both of our hands. This is going to get awkward fast.
I nod in affirmation, unable to look up into his eyes. Not again. "It's fine."
"Well, look um. I was trying to tell you that I had your glasses, but you were out before I could even look at you." He chuckled lightly, almost sounding disappointed at the fact that I was avoiding him.
I looked up at him for the first time since class ended. He has really pretty eyes.
"Thanks. I like yours too." He grins down at me.
"I said that out loud," I say horrified that I just voiced out my thoughts in front of him.
He laughs, finally letting go of his grip on my backpack, "It's fine. You can compliment my eyes whenever you want."
I tilt my head to the side, taking in his features. His smile stood out the most. It was so contagious, that I found myself wanting to smile with him.
