"Princess! Can you come here?" I hear daddy say from the living room. I take my laptop off my lap and sit it down on my bed. I put on my slides and make my way downstairs to the living room. As I get closer to the first floor I see daddy checking himself out in the mirror. I frown as I finally get down to the end of the staircase.
"Yes, daddy?"
He looks up quickly and smiles wide. He waves me over with his hands to the couch and I hesitantly listened and sit down on the couch. He's been acting kind of weird since I turned thirteen two weeks ago and it's kind of been scaring me.
He stares at me more and longer.
He smiles at me more. Like a lot more.
He once made a weird joke about me eating. That memory weirded me out the most.
Daddy and I were eating dinner, just us as it has always been since he adopted me four years ago. I hadn't eaten breakfast that morning and I was practically throwing the food into my mouth. I began to slow down as I felt him staring at me. I look up to him and slowly chew the food that was still in my mouth.
"What?" I laugh still trying to swallow all of the food that I stuffed into my mouth.
He stared me down a for few more seconds, making me squirm, then he said,

I was frozen, staring at him. I honestly couldn't believe he said that but I just brushed it off, realizing that he probably didn't mean it the way that I was thinking, "Well it's a good thing I'm not a woman." I smiled and continued to eat.
His smile was wiped off his face and he began to eat.
"I've been meaning to talk to you about something honey."
"What?"
"Do you remember how on your birthday you told me that you would do anything for me princess?"
"Yes?" I say, becoming confused.
"Well, daddy needs you to do something for him."
"What do you need my help with?"
"Daddy's been lonely princess. He's put all of his personal time into taking care of you since he adopted you."
"Why are you talking in the third person daddy?" I laugh.
He smiled and look at me. He brought his hand up to my hair, twirling his finger around one of my curls. "You have the most beautiful curls princess. Perfect enough to grab." He states as he grabs a handful of my hair and pulls my head back.
I groan in pain and grab onto his hand that's wrapped around my hair. "Daddy," I whine, "You're hurting me. Please let go."
"But you said you'd do anything for me princess. Were you lying to me?" He pulled my hair harder.
"No! I promise I wasn't lying. Just tell me what to do."
He leans down and kisses my cheek, finally letting go of my hair, only to place that same hand right above my butt.
