"I'm so nervous Calum. what if they don't like me?"y/n asked while nervously fidgeting with her fingers. "they will love you baby, they already do. I talk about you all the time when I call my mom. she's super excited to meet you, trust me and now get some sleep, it's a long flight, you're gonna be jetlagged otherwise.", I said lifting up the arm rest between our seats so she could use me as her pillow. "okay", she murmured cuddling into my chest and closing her eyes. it didn't take her long to doze of to sleep, I draped my hoodie around her so she wouldn't get cold.
a couple hours later
"we're here", I said softly shaking her shoulders to wake her up. "huh", she murmured with her usual sleepy voice, "oh we're here." I laughed and pulled her up so we could get off the plane. It was just autumn in sydney at this time of the year, but it was still hot outside.
I hoped there wouldn't be any fans waiting for us, they don't know about y/n and I yet. they know who she is obviously, they just don't know we're dating. I want to keep her my little secret for just a little bit longer, I know how fans are, I love them, but lot of them will try to get her attention and I don't want it to scare her off, it can be quite overwhelming. I want this to work, I want us to work, we'll put it out there when we're both ready.
we got in the cab and we arrived at my mom's house in no time. she was still up even though I told her she didn't have to wait for us. she had made us something to eat and got all exited when she saw y/n holding on to my hand as we walked into the kitchen.
"hiii, it's so nice to finally meet you y/n, calum can't shut up about you! welcome to sydney, I hope you'll like it here and I hope you'll want to come back agian later!", my mom rattled. "mom, we're both so happy to be here, but I think we're also really tired from the long flight and it's quite late already, so I think it's better for all of us if we just go to bed now and do this in the morning.", I said laughing at my mom's enthousiasm.
"right, I'm sorry, I'm just so excited to see you both, you're such a cute couple.", she said smiling from ear to ear. "thank you, it's nice to meet you too." y/n chuckled. "well Calum knows his way around obviously so he'll show you where you guys can sleep. sorry if it's a bit small, I never bothered to change his old bedroom.", my mom said. "no, no, it's perfect, thank you.", y/n reassured my mom. "good night!", she said giving me a kiss on the cheek and giving y/n a quick hug before we all went to our rooms.
"I told you she loves you.", I said as we both dropped down on my bed. It was a small bed actually only meant for one person. "yeah, you were right.", she laughed, "I gotta say, your room looks dope." "oh shut up.", I said hitting her with my pillow. "hey!", she giggled, "we should just go sleep." "yes", I laughed. we both changed into something more comfortable and climbed into the bed. I pulled the blanket on top of us and whispered "I love you" into y/n's ear as I wrapped my arms aroud her and pulled her closer to me. "I love you too", she whispered back as she laid her head on my chest and slung her leg over mine.
