The Late Night Visit

The Next Day

Chapter 2: 

             I wake up covered in sweat, thinking aloud,” It must have been a dream!” My dad walks in and says,” What must have been a dream?” I say quickly “Oh nothing dad.” Realizing I thought out loud. 

“It’s Sunday and I have nowhere to go.”I complain to my best friend Christina. She says,” I’m sorry, I’m grounded. You know if I wasn’t I’d take you to the mall.” “Yeah I know.” I say in defeat. It’s her fault for getting caught sneaking out to see her boyfriend Ryan for one of their “fun nights out”. I wonder what that’s like…Hmm oh well. “Ha-ha so what is the sentence?” “Very funny ha-ha.” she says sarcastically,” Well I have no clue maybe 2-3 weeks tops; Maybe more if they had found out what I was doing when I was out.” We both get a good laugh out of that one and share a goodbye. I lie on my bed and suddenly remember,” THE CELLPHONE!!” I shout and almost literally jump off my bed. I go and grab the phone from the drawer and immediately text Rodrigo. The text read: Hey umm I want to hangout today at 6:30 sound good? I get a text almost in that instant it read: Sure how about the park? I text him back with a yes and I look at the clock it said 4:30.” Ok I have two hours to go well better get ready.” I straighten my hair and put a bow that is polka-dot black and red. I wear skinny jeans and a tight tank top. I wonder to myself,” What is he going to wear?” I arrive at the park and look at my watch.”It’s 5:55 ok just in time.”I say to myself. So I decide to go and hide in a tree to surprise him. I see him looking around I think he’s worried so I call him over,” hey I’m over here.” I start to wave but he’s next to me in an instant, I gasp in surprise but he hugs me and asks,” Why did you hide in such a high place?” I just giggle and say,” Well for one I like high places, were you worried?” He sighs,” Yes I was I thought something happened to you.” I blush and then he kisses me. When I pull away I tell him,” Hey you need to stop doing that.” He smirks and says,” Why?” He laughs a little bit,” Don’t you like surprises?” I say shyly, “Well yes…but not like that, not yet anyway…“Wait!” I gasp as he starts leaning closer to kiss me again,” How do you know if I do or not?” He laughs again and says, “I told you I’ve known you for a long time.” Then in that moment he holds me close. I later find myself falling asleep in his arms so he takes me to my house. He gets me to my room through the window, obviously if it was through the front door my dad would have a cow! I’m almost asleep when all of a sudden I hear myself say,” Please Rodrigo don’t go stay with me at least until I fall asleep.” I’m still shocked about what I just said but I don’t say anything because I’m too tired to protest. So he holds me until I fall asleep, but when I wake up he’s still laying next to me! I hear my dad coming up the stairs to wake me up,  I quickly wake Rodrigo up, and get him into the closet. I dash to my bed, throw the covers over me, and pretend to be asleep. That’s when my dad walks in and "wakes" me up. 

Christina catches me in the hall and asks,” Sapphire what happened to you yesterday I tried to call you like fifty times!” “Oh sorry I wasn’t home all last night.” I say shyly. “Why? What you have a boyfriend now or what?” she says sarcastically. “Ummm well…..”I start but she interrupts me,” WHAT???? YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND AND YOU DIDN’T TELL ME??!!” she yells and almost everyone is watching now and making me even more embarrassed, “Well not exactly…”and then I tell her everything about Rodrigo except for the vampire thing, she would freak if she found out,” Well he sounds like a stalker and you should stay away from him.” Then I explain about how I feel like I have known him my entire life.” Whoa that’s freaky.” She says in an almost whisper “Yeah I guess but he’s super my type!” I exclaim. We giggle all the way to our first period. I pass her a note that says,” So how are you and Ryan?” she writes back:” Me being grounded doesn’t stop our “fun” time haha take that mom!” I start cracking up like crazy and that starts the whole class up. The teacher finally calms us down and we go on with boring work. Finally I go home to relax and put some Three Days Grace on. I finish my homework in a flash and can’t stop thinking about Rodrigo. He texts me later that night; the text read: Hey are you free Saturday? I text back immediately: Yes, what do you have in mind? He writes: How about a movie and a moonlit walk, including a picnic lit by candle light? I text back a yes, say goodnight and dream of how wonderful Saturday is going to be.
