AN- Above is Virgil's piercings. Yes, those are his piercings. They're mostly covered by his hair anyway, if they bother you.

Hey, okay, this is a little strange, but when you see ***, it changes to 3rd person. When you see VVV, it's changed back to Virgil's, okay! I just need it to be that way sometimes.

"Me neither." My eyes widened.

"You're gay?" I asked. He looked at me confused.

"I'm sorry, have you seen me!" He said, making me laugh. "I mean, just think about it for a second."

"Then why come to an all-boys school?" I asked. He rolled his eyes.

"I could ask you the same thing." We looked at each other questioningly. "Answer on three." I smiled a bit, immediately hiding it, but I nodded. "1, 2, 3--

"I'm not out yet!" We both said.

"My mom would never--" I started, putting my hand on the rail of the roof.

"Neither would my father--" Roman said, putting his hand near mine, which immediately made me jerk away.

"Are you going to tell the rest of our group?" I asked, shoving my hands in my pockets. He shook his head. Everyone but Logan are gay in our friend group. Although, Logan doesn't seem to understand any emotions.

"Me neither. I mean, I know Patton's gay, and Emile and Remy, but it's bound to escape somehow." I said. Roman looked at me, confused.

"Wait, wait. Patton and Emile are gay?" I hid laughter. "I mean, Remy, obviously gay, like holy holly hack, he's gay!" I tried not to laugh once again. Hiding any emotion is actually pretty difficult.

"Yeah, sorry, I guess I probably shouldn't have told you, I should've let them tell you on their own time," I said. He nodded.

"I'm sure it's fine." He took a breath. "Are you going to tell the rest of them about your name?" Fuck, I forgot I did that.

"No. Not today." He smiled at me.

"Well, until you're ready, I'll address you as Anxiety. Or one of the many nicknames I have." I hid my smile. I've been doing that a lot lately, huh.

"Thanks, Roman." I reached into my pocket for my phone before realizing it wasn't there. Oh, year. "Do you have your phone? I need the time." I said. He looked at me with a confused face.

"Wait, you came up here with your headphones." I nodded. "But you weren't listening to music." I nod again. "So you just wear them to cover up your ears? I shook my head.

"Not just to cover them up. They help muffle sound. If I try, I can focus on the silence of my headphones. It helps me be calm." Roman nodded and smiled slightly.

***

"I'm glad that you have a way to help you." Roman said, looking down at Virgil. Virgil was leaning on the bars, looking down to the shining town, a smile on his face. Not a smirk or sarcastic grin, a real, sincere smile. It was nice to see his fluffy purple hair, his eyes shining with stars. Roman looked at Virgil up and down, realizing how wrong he was about Virgil. Virgil looked up at Roman, raising an eyebrow.

VVV

Roman was looking at me weird, smiling. It's weird. Not that I hate it. I mean, I don't love it, but it's an okay change of pace from that angry glare I would get. I huffed a laugh out of my nose.

"Dude, why are you looking at me like that?" I said with a smile. He immediately looked away, up, I assume his eyes went to the moon.

"I'm not!" I laughed before immediately stopping. He looked back at me and I held out my hand. "What?" He asked, turning back to me completely.

"Your phone. You never told me the time, Sir Stupidity."

"O-Oh! Right!" He said, handing the phone to me. 10:48. Holy shit, where did the time go?!

"We should go, we'll get in trouble if we aren't in in the next 12 minutes, come on." I handed his phone back to him, our fingers grazing together. Not that it matters, it was just a small detail. I don't even know why I included it! It doesn't matter, forget about it!

As I started to walk away, he stopped me. I looked at him with a raised eye brow, questioning his action. He held something out to me.

"Oh!" I laughed a bit, taking my headphones and hat out of his hand. "I'm sorry, I guess I forgot. I haven't been without them in a while, I missed what it was like to be without them, I guess I got used to it."

"You look wonderful with them off. But you also look great with them on." He said. I turned away from him. I put them on n and we both went downstairs. The silence wasn't filled with an annoyed and angry tension it was before. It was calm and nice. I didn't have to focus into my headphone's silence because I was comfortable with the silence we were in.

I let out a happy sigh and Roman looked at me concerned.

"What's wrong, Virge?" I looked up at him. "Virgil!" He corrected.

"No, no, it's fine. Just remember, it's anxiety in front of the others." He nodded. "Anyway, it wasn't a bad sigh. It was happy." He smiled.

"Oh. Good."

He stopped at his floor and left to his room and I walked to mine.

"What if he's hurt!" Patton yelled as I opened the door.
