6:50. Later than usual.

I showered, brushed my teeth and dressed in my usual attire, black polo, blue tie, dress pants, socks and shoes.

I turned on my desk lamp and read my book. Sherlock. I could hear Roman's quiet snores, Dominic tossing and turning in his sleep. At one point I heard Andi's stuffed toy fall onto the floor. But it was all just background noise.

Currently 8:30.

Dominic woke at 7:45, Roman woke up at 8:00 and Andi slept until 8:17. They were all getting ready for the day.

"How do you manage to wake up so early? And why?" Dominic asked, as he sat into his own desk chair. I shut my bookmark into my book, knowing that I likely wouldn't get much more reading done while the others were awake.

"I wake up early so I don't have to deal with other people's nonsense and so I can read with little to no interruptions." I adjust my glasses. "Of course, it's never no interruptions. Dominic is never comfortable in one position to sleep in and Roman snores due to the fact that he doesn't sleep off of his back. The only one relatively quiet is Andi, but he occasionally drops things off of his bunk."

"Haha, sorry, Logan." Andi apologized.

"It's alright." My phone buzzed, getting my immediate attention.

"Hey! Do you want to join me and Anx in our dorm? It's suuuuper boring and quiet!"

Ah, not my parent's yet. It would be slightly early for that. They message me every day at 9:00 sharp to check in on me. This message, by no surprise, is from Patton. Who is basically the only other person to have my phone number besides my parents.

"That would be lovely" I realized what I was typing before I hit the back button.

"That would be adequate. Would you like me to bring Roman along."

I patiently waited for a response.

"Why are you staring at your phone like that?" Roman asked. Okay, perhaps that was a lie. I didn't wait patiently. My eyes were figuratively glued to my phone, which I had set on my desk, waiting for the screen to light up with a notification from Patton.

"I'm waiting for a response." I responded, adjusting my glasses.

"Yeah, but you're not going to die from looking away from your phone." Roman said, leaning back in his chair.

"Of course, I am not going to die due to looking away from my phone, what a ridiculous--"

"Idiom, idiot." Roman said.

"Roman's right. You're staring at it in such a way that, figuratively, if you were to never get a response, you would explode." Andi said, causing Dominic and Roman to laugh. I glanced back at my phone. "Who's so enticing that you will barely look away?" At that moment, my phone went off. I reached for it, but before I could grab it, Roman took it off of my desk.

"Why am I not surprised?" He asked, handing my phone to Dominic and Andi. Dominic looked up at me and then back to my phone.

"Isn't Patton that energetic kid who has a pink phone case with one of those puffballs on them?" Andi asked. Dominic continued to look between my phone and I.

"How are you two friends? He's like the fluffiest little sunshine ball in the world and you're like... a robotic dictionary." Dominic said. I sighed.

"Yes, we are very different, but could I please get my phone back?" I asked, holding my phone out. Dominic clutched at my phone.

"Uh-Huh, yeah, later, who's anxiety?" He asked.

"He's that boy who wears that hat all the time. His headphones and hood too. And he doesn't really care what the teachers do, he just keeps them on." Roman said. I adjusted my glasses.

"Interesting. The first time you've spoken of Anxiety without tones of annoyance and misery."

"We've settled the dust, calculator watch. We get along now." Roman said, crossing his arms. Dominic handed over my phone before looking at Roman.

"Anxiety says it's okay!"

"What's your and Anxiety's story?" He asked.

"We fought for a while, but last night we decided that we're gonna try to be friends."

Hm. Perhaps it would be easier if Anxiety and Patton came up instead of going down to their floor. Andi and Dominic keep asking questions, it would be easier if they just met him.

"Going to. Would you allow Patton and Anxiety to come up to our dorm?" I asked. Andi's eyes filled with stars.

"That would be awesome!"

"Say yes, Roman!" Andi said. Roman looked over to them and shrugged.

"If they're feeling up to it, sure." He said.

"Yes!" Andi and Dominic said, doing something that I think is refereed to as high fiving.

"Actually, would you and Anxiety like to come up to our dorm room?"

Contrary to last time, I got an immediate response.

"That would be awesome! We'll be right up!"

I felt Roman peering over my shoulder. He smiled before scoffing and rolling his eyes.

"Does he know how to use something that isn't an exclamation point?" He mumbled.

"I'm sure he does." I said. I looked up to Andi and Dominic. "They will be up in a moment." I said, putting my book to the side of my desk. Dominic re-positioned in his chair so that he was sitting on it backwards, and Andi clutched at a stuffed fox toy. Roman almost immediately bolted to the bathroom to fix his hair.

There was a knock at the door and I answered. Patton and Anxiety stood in the door way. Patton wearing a blue polo, khaki shorts, shoes, and a cardigan wrapped around his shoulders. Virgil had on his hat, headphones and usual jacket on with the hood pulled up. He had black sweatpants on too, along with black socks.

"Hi Logan!" He greeted. His cheerful expression was hard to not smile at. His emotions seemed to be contagious, at least when it came to me. Which is strange, considering that my emotions barely exist.

"Salutations Patton. Anxiety." I said, allowing them to come in.

"God, he's so formal." I heard Anxiety mutter. "Sup teach," He greeted. He sat on Roman's chair. Roman stood near it, leaning against the wall.

"Hi! You must be Logan's dorm-mates!" Patton exclaimed. "It's so nice to meet you guys! I'm Patton."

"I'm Dominic." Dominic greeted.

"A-Andi." Andi said nervously.

"Awe, kiddo, no reason to be nervous! But it's okay that you are! Meeting people can be scary. I know someone who doesn't like meeting new people, it scares him." Patton said gently. "I like your toy!" Andi gave a small smile.

"He's not scared by meeting people," Anxiety said, tapping on his phone, presumably for music. "He's anxious." Patton sighed.

"Kiddo, they're synonymous."

"Falsehood." Roman let out a hefty laugh. "Anxiety is the fear that something may happen, fear is the worry about something that is happening or something or someone." I explained. Patton's eyes filled with stars.

"That's so interesting, Logan!"

That is... different. Most people don't find my facts even remotely fascinating like I do. Most people are annoyed and scoff. But his reaction is so different. He seems genuinely interested.

"How?" Roman exclaimed, making Virgil stifle a laugh. Roman leaned down and whispered something to Virgil, which only made him laugh more.

"What's so funny, Roman?" Patton asked. Roman whispered it to Patton as well, which made him gasp. "Roman! That's mean, you shouldn't say stuff like that!" Virgil and Roman laughed.

At least they're getting along.
