AN- So apparently something glitched (I think I opened an old draft on my phone) and fucked up this chapter, so I fixed it. If you're coming after August 11th 2020, it doesn't matter, but still. Don't know wtf happened! But I hope I fixed it
Dear Diary,
Things have been okay at the new school. We made some new friends.
The first person we met was Emile. He's the son of the councillor, he's super kind and fun, he likes cartoons. He's in the same dorm as us and he's gay. The next gay we met was Remy. He's sassy and cool, he sleeps a lot and when he doesn't, he has a coffee in hand. Then we met these 2 people, Roman and Logan. Roman... He's kind of rude to Virgil. I'm sure he's a fine person, but he's mean to Virgil. Logan...
My mind wandered thinking about Logan, staring at the wall with my head resting on my hand.
"Pat! Why are you standing at the wall like that?" Remy asked, quite loudly.
"Hm, yeah, why?" Emile asked.
"Oh, I was just thinking," I said, kind of quiet. I heard a small hum.
"Hey, where's Anxiety?" Emile asked. I figured he's in Roman and Logan's room to talk. Makes sense, right? Yeah, I'd say so.
"I'm sure he's in Roman and Logan's room. I'm sure he's fine." There was a knock at the door and I smiled. "I'm sure that's him and he just forgot his key!" I said, bouncing to my feet to answer the door. As I opened the door, I was surprised by what was behind it. "Logan? Why are you here?"
"I am just here to tell Roman that he should come back to our room, but it seems he isn't here." He said, looking down at me. For a second my mind wandered about being short before I realized.
"Wait, they aren't in your room?" I asked, panicked. Logan shook his head. I laughed nervously before pulling out my phone and dialing Virgil's contact. On Virgil's bed, I heard a tune play. I've heard Virgil listen to it, but I don't know the name of the song. I could tell it started with a G though.
"Anxiety didn't take his phone? How?" Remy asked.
"He left wearing his headphones," Emile noted.
"What if Roman hurt him?" I asked, panicked.
"Patton, think with your brain and not with your heart," Logan said, looking down at me. "Roman wouldn't hurt Anxiety seriously. Even if he did, it would be on accident or playfully. Last I heard from Roman, he didn't want to leave on bad terms. I'm sure that Anxiety is fine." Logan said in a calm, almost robotic voice. I tried my best to calm down, but then my mind flooded with the things that could be happening to my step brother.
"Logan, I know that it might not be Roman's fault..." I said calmly before taking a deep breath "But what if he's hurt!" I yelled as the door opened. In the doorway was Virgil. I immediately ran to Virgil and wrapped my arms around his torso in relief. "Kiddo! You're okay!"
"Bro, you need to chill." He said. His voice was happy. Not that I'm sad that he's happy, I'm super happy for him, I'm just wondering why. When I pulled away, he had a smile on his face. A small smile, but it was sincere and real.
"Don't you see, Patton. I told you that he was fine." Logan said. I sighed happily.
"You're right, thank you." Virgil looked at Logan.
"You should probably get to your room. Curfew is in a few." I smiled. My kiddo is picking up on my sense of humor.
"Of course. I will see you all tomorrow." Logan said as he rushed out of our room. Virgil tossed something to Emile, which he kind of caught but immediately dropped.
"Thanks for lending me the keys. Sorry." Virgil said, climbing up to his bed.
"It's totally fine!" Emile said, putting keys, I assume, in his pillow case.
"I'm going to sleep, don't bother me." I looked up at Virgil's bunk, putting my hands on my hips.
"No, no, no, young man! You're cutting it awfully close to curfew! You have to at least explain why!" I said, putting on my best dad voice. He sighed.
"I was just talking to Roman. It's not a big deal. We were just talking. It's fine. Let me go to sleep." He said. I rolled my eyes and sat back at my seat, remembering what I was writing in my diary. Right. Logan.
He's nice, but really smart. He's helpful. And I'm glad he's here with us.
Logan helped me calm down from my jitters about Virgil. He left for a bit with Roman. He's alright, but still. I should probably go to sleep now. It's late.
Goodnight Diary!
I woke up to sunlight flooding my view. Someone's opened the curtains. But it usually isn't this bright. I panicked as I shot up, standing up and hitting my head on the ceiling.
"School! I'll be late!" Virgil was still asleep in his bed. Remy, who had opened the curtains, was the only one fully dressed, wearing black jeans and a leather jacket, which is all I could see from the back. He turned around (which is when I saw his white t-shirt) to look at me.
"Babe, it's Saturday." He said. I stumbled down to sit on my bed.
"Oh. Right." I giggled a bit and smiled apologetically.
"I need to go out before breakfast, which is at 9:30, by the way, to get coffee. If anyone wants to join me, feel free." He said, putting on his boots. He left the room and Emile walked out of the bathroom.
"I'm going to go visit my dad's dorm today. I'll see you guys later." He said, walking out of the room. I laid back down, my head near my latter so I could talk to Virgil. I thought he was asleep, but I saw he was laying on his side, playing on his phone. He had a smile on his face, his eyes shining with stars. I'm not gonna pry because I know he's just going to get upset. I just don't know how he's suddenly so happy out of nowhere.
