Chapter 12

Uruha's P.O.V

I awoke to Aoi pulling the sheets off my bed. "What are you doing?" I asked as I rubbed the sleep from my eyes. "Gonna put fresh sheets on your bed and wash these while you get dressed." He said and disappeared into the laundry room.

I got up and went to my dresser. I pulled out a black shirt with white branch designs on it and some black skinny jeans that were torn in the thigh and knee. I slowly dressed and pulled on some shoes. They were white converse with black laces.

I picked up Blue's bowl and placed it on the counter. She jumped onto the counter and rubbed her face against my hand as i poured the food into her bowl. I picked her up, holding her in my right arm as i set the bowl on the ground.

"Good morning Blue." I said as i rubbed my nose against hers. I set her on the floor and she began to eat. I grabbed her water bowl and washed it out and set it on the floor. She sniffed it and look up at me. She me owed and followed me to the fridge. I got a water bottle and poured half the water into her bowl. I closed the bottle and set it on the counter.

Aoi came out of the laundry room and kissed my cheek. "Good morning." I said and he kissed my cheek again. "Good morning, Kouyou." He said and i flicked his forehead.

We left campus, heading towards a nearby mall. We entered and three men locked their gazes on us. I felt them staring as we left the food court. I grabbed Aoi's arm, holding on to him tightly. "Those men were watching us." I said and Aoi looked at them. He rolled his eyes and we entered the jewelry store.

I looked at all the rings but one caught my eye. A small ring with a lilac colored stone. "Aoi." He looked when i called his name. I pointed at it and a man walked up to us. "Would you like to see the ring?" He asked and Aoi replied a yes. I looked at the door, those three men had entered, their eyes all locked on me.

"Size?" I looked at the man as he asked the question. "9." I said and he nodded. He handed me the small ring and i put if on my wedding finger. The ring he gave me last night was on the ring finger of my right hand.

"Its perfect, Aoi." I said and he smiled. The man handed Aoi another box. "The band and your ring are both in it. He can wear his out of the store." The man said and Aoi paid him. He slipped the box into his pocket and we walked to the door. But those men were guarding it.

"Hey. Kid, your Kouyou Takashima, right?" They asked an did looked at Aoi. "Yes, i am." I replied and looked back at them. The man pulled a gun and pointed it at my stomach. "Would you rather be shot here or here?" He said and lifted the gun from my stomach to my throat.

"Or how about here." He said and raised the gun, pointing it between my eyes. "Im not scared of you." I said and reached up, grabbing the gun. "Hey!" I heard someone shot and i closed my eyes as the gun went off. I expected pain to go coursing through my body, but it didnt.

I opened my eyes to see raven hair covering my vision. Then I realized, Aoi was shot! He continued to stand, guarding me.

Mall security was leading two of the men away. The third had escaped. Aoi turned to face me, no wounds. He smiled, but his eyes were full of pain. Then I noticed the blood on his jacket. The bullet had went through his shoulder.

"Aoi...your hurt." I said as I stared at the hole in his jacket shoulder. I grabbed his hand to his non-injured arm and led him to the mall security station. "He was shot. In the shoulder." I said and they called the paramedics. Aoi didn't have to go to the hospital, they were able to patch him up in the ambulance.

He smiled the entire time. Acting tough. But i could see the unshed tears. "Aoi. You can cry if you want. I know it hurts." I said and he laughed. "What? This is nothing."

"Aoi it IS something. You could have been hurt worse or even killed." I snapped and he stopped laughing.

My phone rang but i ignored it. Finally, it stopped and Aoi leaned down to kiss me. But my phone rang again. I scoffed and made Aoi get off me. I sat up and grabbed the little damned device. It's said restricted. Is someone prank calling me?

I answered it, Aoi stared at me. "Is this Uruha? Or Kouyou?" The man asked. "Yes it is." I said and pushed Aoi off the bed as he tried to molest me.

"Good. Now I've got some important news for you." He said and i looked at Aoi. "What is it?"

"Your mothers dead." He said and i bit my lip. "What happened? Where's my sister?" I asked and the man chuckled.

"U-uruha...they killed mommy." Aiko's voice came on the line. "Uruha...help me." Shee began to cry.

"I hope you understand the situation. Oh, and if you call the cops, I've got eyes on you and I'll kill your precious sister." The man was almost laughing.

"What do you want?" I demanded and Aoi stood up, giving me a questioning look.

"Well, we want at least 20% of your fathers insurance money. And, i want you." The man said and i bit my lip. "Why me?"

"Because your quite a pretty little girl. You would look good locked in a cage by my bed like the bitch you are." He laughed and i sighed. "Did you just say I was a female dog?" I demanded and he laughed.

"Bring your pretty little birdy or a boyfriend too. You'll need someone to take Aiko go safety." He said and i felt my stomach churn. "I'll call you tomorrow." He said and hung up.

I stared at my phone and sighed. "Aoi, They have my sister. I have to get fathers insurance money for them. He's going to call us with a date and time tomorrow." I said and he nodded.
