5) Kyle Ron

"ughhh... Sure. What name?" she said trying to act Professionaly even though she knew exactly what his name was. She heard him laugh as she reached for a cup and a pen.

"Ben" he said with a smile.

"alright that is just $4.75" she still couldn't look him in the eyes.

"you can have an extra $10 for the abs comment" he said while sliding her the money. She cringed internally and slipped the extra $10 into her pocket.

"You heard that didn't you" she said blushing.

"yeah, look. I don't want to offend you or anything but I'm not really looking for a relationship with someone who I just met. Don't get me wrong, I think you are really pretty and you can sure as hell kick ass but I don't know you too well" he started to trail off. Rey finally met his gaze and felt her breath catch in her throat. Fighting back the tears of rejection she retorted back with a lie.

"Oh no, that's a good thing. I wasn't looking for a relationship as well- full stop! um... That's nothing against you..." she let her eyes fall and she left him standing at the counter as she made her way out the back to go find Poe. She ran through the kitchen into the hallway and saw Poe leaning against the wall staring at her.

"well?!" he said with an excited voice.

"can you please go and make his drink, I'm gonna go cry in the bathroom. Peace out" she announced while hearing Poe start to try and get her to say what happened but stopped when he saw her face. She looked really upset.

"Alright, but you have to tell me what happened once he is gone. I will come and get you" he said turning and walking out the front to make the coffee.

She watched Poe walk off before she let her shoulders slump and she trudged of to the bathrooms. She locked herself in one of the stalls and sat down, instantly tears started to prickle in her eyes. She wasn't sure why she cared so much. It's not like she knew him, so why should she be mad at a boy saying he wouldn't go out with her if she hadn't actually displayed any affection towards him. But it hit her suddenly. She had been rejected- barely even given a chance, even if she had wanted one or not.

She had never felt so alone. All she could think about was of her first memory- she was at a trading post being held back by her former boss/ guardian Unkar and she was screaming and crying for her parents to come back. They never did.

Each day she had held hope that they would return but as the years went on, finding scraps and fixing cars and different types of machinery to survive she finally accepted the fact that they would never return.

When Rey had been accepted into the Resistance College she was stoked. Not only would she be getting a fresh start but maybe, just maybe she could feel whole again. But at this moment she felt empty. She wiped a tear away from her cheek and decided to walk back out the front even if he was still there.

Luckily he wasn't.

Her shift seemed to go extra slow that day and somehow so did the rest of the week. She refused to go back to training with Ben, even after Maz had asked her. She knew it was a petty thing to do so instead she blamed it on having to study. Maz just gave her a sarcastic look like she knew something else was bothering her but let it slide.

It was only one week until her exam and her anxiety levels were sky high, so when she heard that one of the boys on the football team- Chewie was having a party, she instantly agreed to go with Poe. She hoped that she could let loose, maybe even pick up a boy- she didn't care, she just wanted to forget about him.

If he wasn't on her mind before, he definitely was now! She had no idea why but he always seemed to be apart of her thoughts which was strange because he had made it clear that he wanted nothing to do with her besides, they barely even knew each other.
