➵ "well maybe your goat eyes affect your vision g-man"

"percy! annabeth!" a familiar voice called as the mentioned teenagers left english they both turned to see grover underwood coming towards them.

grover was a mutual friend between the two, annabeth had known him as long as she could remember and percy was, undoubtedly his best friend.

"i saw you two got put on the love table" he said, trying to sound sympathetic while hiding a massive smile.

"it had a name now?"

"yeah but that's not important, did you see leo's face? he's been trying to get on that table with calypso since last year"

annabeth had seen leo's face and it had almost made the experience worth it. leo valdez has to be the only person who has actively tried to get on the 'love table' but much to his chagrin has never gotten anywhere close.

"i would gladly switch with leo" percy complained "miss made like twenty subtle hints throughout that lesson"

"it was twenty-six, I counted"

percy groaned in despair "a whole year of this- its got to be illegal somehow"

grover, who had been eyeing the conversation carefully suddenly piped in "i see you two are on speaking terms now"

"what?- we've never not been on speaking terms" annabeth said a little quickly.

"its funny I don't think I've ever seen you have a conversation"

"well maybe your goat eyes affect your vision g-man"

grover poked Percy with his crutch playfully "there is nothing wrong with my goat eyes"

"grover, your pupils are rectangular"

"you're just jealous"

"sure thing mate"

"juniper likes my eyes" grover countered as the trio started walking to their next lesson.

"juniper..." annabeth thought out-loud "is she the girl you had a crush on since we were eight?"

"since we were six actually- but yeah"

"you should ask her out" annabeth said "you'd be good together"

"well i have an agreement with perc-"

"oh yeah!" percy interrupted "i forgot about the agreement, and let's continue forgetting about the agreement"

annabeth laughed in confusion "whats the agreement"

grover looked momentarily panicked "nothing important"

"really?"

"yeah it's sort of an inside joke" grover said not sounding entirely convinced himself.

annabeth looked over to percy for confirmation and he gave a half shrug she somehow understood as 'ill tell you later'

that's weird,,, how does she know percy's perplexing and unclear body language? annabeth had to rip her mind away from that thought as grover litterally pushed percy into her.

she was about to turn around and get mad but grover made furious sounds of protest and pointed to a group of girls coming out of another class. juniper was with them talking animatedly with her friend.

grover was gripping annabeths shoulder uncomfortably hard she shrugged it off when the girls had passed around the corner.

"did you really have to hide that dramatically, she didn't even look in our direction?"

"shes so perfect" Grover said dreamily.

annabeth rolled her eyes playfully "i have to get going, I'm already late for science. enjoy drooling over juniper"

"wait annabeth what room are you in?" percy asked.

"s24"

"damn it s23"

"i didnt know you were taking science this semester." annnabeth said and then in a moment of crush fueled adrenaline continued "we should study together sometime"

"it seems like theres a lot of things you dont know about me"

grover scrunched up his nose in disgust "percy stop being weird and mysterious we all know your really bad at playing the stereotypical fanfiction- mysterious person"

"fine i get it no being mysterious, but in all seriousness i would love to study with you sometime" he shot annabeth a goofy grin "but if we dont leave now were going to be really screwed"

"okay see you later" grover waved then turned to leave back down the corridor, percy and annabeth walked in the opposite direction in a comfortable yet slightly uncertain silence to the science block.

even thought annabeth was sure no scientist could explain the warm, safe feeling she felt in her heart after percy smiled directedly and exclusively at her.

sorry this book hasn't been updated in..  eight months. i severely lost motivation to write (read last announcement if you want more information on where ive been) and tbh im probably never coming back to the scale i was before. but this chapter has been 90% finished since like march so recently i decided finish it because some of you have been asking for it (sorry its kinda filler as well unfortunately thats just how the story fell) 

im only going to update if i have a sudden burst of motivation because i still have some ideas for this book but as i said ive lost a lot of interest in writing, wattpad and the percy jackson fandom in general. i dont have much time to write even if i wanted to and im about to get even busier because school is starting again next week lmao.

tldr: updates are only happening if i have a sudden burst of motivation and honestly i have no idea if or when that will happen. i might see you in a week, another eight months or i might never write again idk
