34. Both are sorry

"Jimin-ah! Do you know anything about Yoongi? Neither of them are answering their phones" Jin said. They were worried as both Namjoon and Yoongi didn't show up for work that day. Jin and Hoseok came to work without Namjoon as he wasn't at home. 

"We don't know what happened, but today morning, Namjoon hyung came to our house and asked us where Yoongi hyung lived. He seemed to be in a hurry. He was looking very frantic" Taehyung said. "And Yoongi hyung wasn't there in his flat when we came for work" Jungkook said. 

"Maybe they are working it out" Hoseok said. "What if Yoongi hyung is actually killing him?" Jimin asked. "Chill, Jimin. We know that won-" Jin was cut in the middle of the sentence by his phone. 

"Hey, babe........what's up?........ommo, wow, really?..........yes, yes, yes, I'm excited, oh my god!!" Everyone scowled at Jin, who was grinning from ear to ear. 

"Sana?" Hoseok mouthed at Jungkook. "I think so" Jungkook mouthed back. 

"Okaiie, honey. Love you. Bye..." Jin hung up. 

Jin turned to look at four other scowling faces. "What?" he asked. "Who is making you grin like that?" Taehyung asked, smirking mischievously. "Sana" Jin blushed. 

"Oh my god, don't tell me Jin hyung is blushing!!" Jungkook exclaimed. "Looks like he is" Jimin said. "Ahh, stop it, all of you" Jin said, waving his hand in front of his face. 

"So, what is it?" Hoseok asked. "She is coming back to Korea. I am soo happy. I am gonna propose to her" Jin said. 

"You have to first introduce her to us" Jimin said. "Yeah. I will propose on that day itself" Jin said. "Oh my god, I'm excited!!" Jungkook said, clapping his hands. 

"When is she coming, by the way?" Taehyung asked. "This was supposed to be a surprise, but she couldn't hold herself anymore. She is arriving tomorrow night, apparently" Jin said. "Ommo, that's soo soon" Jimin said. 

"I KNOW, RIGHT?!! OH MY GOD! I'M LOSING MY MIND!!! NOW WHAT????" Jin yelled. "Chill, you can do it two days after she comes. Like, let her rest for a day and then, next day you can do it" Hoseok said. 

"Right. Let's meet on Friday" Jin said. "Okaiie" Jungkook and Taehyung exclaimed. "Now get back to work. Let those two be. I think they are working things out. Let them come back on their own" Jin said. "Okaiie" everyone else exclaimed.

It was almost an hour since they went to the park. Namjoon simply sat with his best friend, with arms around him. He simply patted him and silently listened to all the agony that was pouring out of Yoongi. 

Yoongi didn't use a single word. He just sobbed. Sobbed loudly until he couldn't sob anymore. That was when he started to talk. 

"Namjoon, I'm so-" "Shh, don't say sorry, hyung. It was not your mistake. You didn't know. Let me talk this time. Because now I know you will listen to me. You will, right?" Namjoon asked. 

Yoongi nodded and placed his head on Namjoon's shoulder. Namjoon brought him into a proper hug. Ohh, how much they both missed each other's warmth! 

"Back then, I really was ready to marry her, hyung. I loved her that much. Of course, you know that already. But when Seojoon hyung told me about the money transfer, I really felt very bad. 

But even then, I thought that she might be having some embarrassing personal reason for doing it and that she might tell me later. But my brain wouldn't listen to my heart. It kept insisting that something was wrong. 

That was when I saw that text. It hit me really hard, hyung. That the girl I loved didn't love me back. That the girl I loved was using me for my money. I mean, if it was just a one sided love, I might not have felt that bad. But we spent almost two years together. 

Did those two years mean nothing to her?? That was what I thought of when I saw your text asking her to meet you in the bar. I didn't know that it was you. I simply followed her" Namjoon stopped for a second as he felt the man in his embrace tremble. He could feel his shirt getting steadily wet.

"Back then, even when I saw you both together, even when I saw you both kissing each other, I didn't blame you for a single second. Because I knew that you weren't the type to cheat. Especially, you would never cheat me. I knew it. 

That was why I wanted to prove it to you that day that she was such a person. That was my original intention of approaching her that night. 

The moment I realized that Lisa and Hyojoo were the same person, it hurt, hyung. More than the fact that she cheated on me, the fact that she was playing with both of us and indirectly trying to separate us hurt me more. 

Moreover, it is always better to realize these horrible things in the starting. Because the more you fall for her, the more it will hurt. And I didn't want you to go through the same pain that I was going through. 

That was why I approached her. But the way she behaved with me made me lose my mind. That was why I panicked when yo- shh, shhhh, it's all okay now" Namjoon patted Yoongi, who started sobbing again, remembering all the torture that he had put his best friend through.

"I was the one who made the mistake of killing her and letting you take the punishment. I should have stayed and taken the punishment. And I really sincerely apologize for that, hyung. There is nothing I can do to ever make it up to the torture that you went through in the jail, but I won't stop trying, hyung. I will work my whole life to make it up to you" Namjoon said, still patting Yoongi, who was crying like a child. 

"It hurt, Monnie. It hurt a lot. I didn't know that she was the one who cheated and all. All I could think of was the fact that you killed her and ran away and my parents abandoned me and that her father was torturing me. 

I was ready to forgive you because I was sure there might have been some reason. But you never came. As time passed, those feelings soon turned into hatred. I am really sorry, Namjoon, I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry" Yoongi cried. 

"I couldn't face you, hyung. I really couldn't face you. I couldn't come back to Daegu. Even last Saturday when we came here, I broke down because of the memories that were rushing back. That was why I couldn't come to you. I am really sorry about it, hyung" Namjoon said, tears running down his face. 

They simply stayed that way, hugging each other and letting out all the agony that both of them kept buried inside themselves. 

It was way past noon when Namjoon's stomach suddenly grumbled. "Let's go home and have lunch" he said and they got up and went to Namjoon's house to have lunch.
