"YOU'RE POSITIVE SHE HAS NO FAMILY WE CAN CONTACT?" A nurse peeked over the rim of her glasses up at Freddie, who was visibly shaken up still. He hated hospitals and didn't want to be here, but he had to be there for her.
"Uh... The closest thing that she has to family is her best mate's family- Anthea Stonem is the mother," Freddie was speaking softly, playing with the sleeves of his jumper.
"Okay," The nurse replied. The hospital was quiet, the typing on the computer was possibly the loudest thing Freddie heard in hours. The nurse cleared her throat, "Thank you, you're all cleared to go into visit her, she was under sedation, so just keep that in mind, she may be out of it still," She looked back up at Freddie, Freddie nodded at her, turning around to walk towards the waiting area, that's where his father and sister were waiting for him. As he neared, his father stood up, embracing him in a tight hug, that's when Freddie broke down, crying onto his shoulder, he was having a hard time comprehending it all. It was hitting him hard, especially since this is what happened to his mother. There was nothing he could do and all he wanted to do was help Harper.

I slowly opened my eyes, the bright white lights straining my eyes as I did so. Machines were beeping, causing my head to throb, I rubbed my eyes slowly, trying to fully wake myself up, I could hear someone shifting in the seat next to me, I was expecting to see Freddie, but as I turned my head to look at him, it wasn't Freddie, it was Tony. Someone had called him, and he came all the way here to be here, "Tony?" I said with a hoarse voice, my throat was burning, it was probably from the stomach pump. Effy probably called him, she knew that seeing him may fix my mood, somewhat.
"Hey, Harper," He said to me, a soft voice. It was as if he was tiptoeing around the situation.
"Look at this shitty reunion," I laughed softly, but it felt like someone was clawing the inside of my throat, I forced a smile on my face.
"You are still the same sarcastic one, even in this condition, aren't you?" He smiled at me, causing me to roll my eyes in response.
Then there was a moment of silence, I knew he was trying to think about what to say to me. What was he supposed to say? Sorry you went mental and unsuccessfully tried to kill yourself? Yeah, that would be lovely. "Are you going to be alright?" He spoke again, looking back over at me.
"Yeah, yeah, of course," I nodded weakly, "I mean, after everything else I went through, I'll be fine."
"Listen, I need to get back to my mum's, I've got some term papers to work on, but I'll be in town for a while, if you need me," He stood up, straightening his posture, "There's someone waiting outside to speak to you... Call me later, I'm always there to talk, no matter what."
"Thank you, Tone..." I smiled up at him as he leaned in to give me a quick hug before I watched as he left the room, his presence quickly replaced by Freddie. He was very visibly shaken up, "Freddikins, hi," I said to him, trying to lighten the dark mood. Even with my hoarse voice and looming fact I tried offing myself, I just wanted him to feel alright.
