After our very eventful lunch I stopped by my locker to grab my books for third period. When I opened it a note fell out and onto the floor. I squat down and pick it up off the floor. I stand back up and open the note.

I'm so sorry for what happened at lunch. It's my fault, I should've helped more. I hope that you are still coming to my game Friday, it won't be the same without you there and we'll probably lose. I just wanted to let you know that you are the most amazing best friend in the entire world - from babes

I love this guy. He's the best. I just hope that he's not blaming himself for what happened.

I walk to third period and when I enter the classroom the teacher isn't there. Everyone is silent. I look around and I find Ashton sitting in the back of the classroom, scribbling on a piece of paper. I walk to the back of the classroom and sit down beside Ashton. Everyone's eyes follow me as I walk. There are tables instead of desks in this classroom and they sit two people per table.

I place my books on the table and turn to look at Ashton. His head is down and his hands are balled into fists. One hanging by his side and one gripping the life out of a pencil. I look back to the people around us to find them still staring at us.

"There is nothing to see here! Stop staring or you'll all be considered creeps!" I yell and they all quickly look ahead and start making conversation with the people around them. I turn back to Ashton and place a hand on his leg to calm him down. I would put my hand on the back of his neck like I usually do but that would stir things up again.

He turned to me and puts his hand on top of mine, smiling appreciatively. The teacher walks in and I was about to move my hand away when Ashton holds onto it tighter. We stayed like that for the rest of class, up until the bell rang.

We sat by each other in the next class as well but we have gym as last period. Once the bell rang, I grabbed all of my books and walked out of the classroom with Ashton beside me. I put my books in my locker and pulled my gym back out. Another good thing about this school is that you can wear whatever you want to gym as long as it isn't jeans.

We walked to the locker rooms and then parted ways to get changed. I changed into a Nike hoodie with some stretchy black UnderArmour leggings. I put on some Nike black and white shoes and headed off to the field where gym was being held today.

When I got there I saw that Ashton was being cornered by Whitney and her minions.

I walked over to Ashton and when he saw me, he breathed out a sigh of relief. "What's going on here?" I ask Ashton and he opens his mouth to speak but Whitney interjected, saying, "Oh nothing just small talk". I raised an eyebrow showing that I didn't believe her.

"I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to Ashton" I say and turn my head back to Ashton. "They were asking questions like how long we've been together and if I loved you, things like that" Ashton says.

"Oh, and what did you say?" I ask, squinting my eyes at him.

"That we've uh... been together for a couple of months now but for the longest time it was long distance. And that yes, I do love you" he says and I'm pretty sure I stopped breathing. From what I know of we aren't dating. "I need to talk to you" Ashton says and pulls me away. "Oh, I'm sure ya do" I mumble low enough that the only people that could hear me was myself and Ashton.

I open my mouth to say something after he quit dragging me but he butted in. "Before you say anything just please, please hear me out first" he says and I nod, not trusting my voice right now.

"Okay, so...whenever we were in third period and you put your hand on my leg to calm me down, a thought entered my mind. 'What if we actually pretended to date?' " he paused for a second before continuing, "Then I started thinking about all of the problems that Whitney has created. Maybe if we make everybody think that we're dating instead of trying to tell everyone else that we aren't, we can confuse Whitney. She doesn't actually think that we're dating, she just said that to start rumors like she usually does at lunch. So if we pretend to date, she'll start to tell everyone that we aren't dating. So that then she accidently shows everyone that she lied and she does all of the work for us" he finishes, smiling proudly at his plan.
