Leaning against the bar counter and boredly staring at the dancing teenagers and intoxicated youths— either from drug or alcohol, at this point, she didn't care, Kaori heaved a sigh. She brought her now pink-colored cocktail to her glossy lips, taking a sip of the sweet and alcoholic beverage. Her dark brown doe eyes swept the room full of prepubescent hormonal teenagers.
She felt slightly irked after sending yet another drunk boy away. The flirting was fun in small doses and when she was up for it, but it got both tiring and annoying in the long run. With her left hand, she let her fingers thread through her chestnut-colored hair, tangling and untangling them. As if the motion would make time pass faster.
Hikari was back on the dancefloor, skipping and waltzing to tables with a glass of beer as a bright grin adorned her face. Kaori didn't know what her twin had in mind, but hse felt like she had collected enough black material for the night and didn't need any more. She stared at her sister's back, keeping an eye on her glass to make sure no one added some unidentified substances to the drink before she pulled her phone out from her purse.
She was about to send a message full of complaints to her sister when she caught sight of a group of girls. It wasn't that they were pretty or exuberant. Simply, Kaori, as an experienced party girl, knew when she saw a newborn calf. And these girls, no matter how she looked at them, reeked of their mother's milk. She didn't know what they were doing here, but she felt slightly worried.
Kaori picked her glass up, about two-thirds of the cocktail remained, she wasn't going to down it, nor was she going to throw it away. With used elegance, she walked across the dancefloor, to the entryway where the group was. Her eyes scanned the girls.
Although they didn't belong to this kind of environment, they didn't seem out of place either. Her eyes fell on the blue-haired one, well, apart from this one maybe, she mused, as she brought the glass to her lips. Observing the girl with gothic lolita styled clothing, she minutely widened her eyes. Was that a boy cross-dressing as a girl?
She almost snickered at the realization. Times have changed. She thoughts nostalgically. She knew Hikari was looking at her, after all, it was Hikari's reflex, to keep on eye on her every move. She didn't care, though. She could understand her twin's worry. As if to answer her thoughts, she felt a pair of fin arms snake around her waist, and a chin rest on her shoulder, stopping her in her endeavor.
"Where are ya going, Kaori?" the mellow voice of her twin whispered in her ear. Kaori felt the grip around her tightening, most probably to restrain her movements, and she lightly slapped Hikari's hands in rebuttal.
