Tetsurou's POV:
I'd noticed that there was something wrong with Kenma. It really wasn't any of my business, but it was hard to get over the fact that he seemed to regress back into his shell, the shell from which he'd barely started peeking out from.
The truth was, I really liked Kenma's company; I was glad that the new nanny was someone who was quiet and unbothered. Despite his... peculiar temperament, he was relatively easy to talk to – or, at least, he'd become easy to talk to.
Time really seemed to fly by after the triplets were left at my doorstep; my days tended to blur and mend together, separated only by the dull routine of going to work and coming back home. I'd never looked forward to the end of the workday; many could call me a workaholic, but now... It was like these kids had completely reset and flipped my life around.
Kuroo Tetsurou the CEO was slowly being replaced by Kuroo Tetsurou the dad. I sighed, running a hand through my hair as I turned to stare out the large window behind my desk. It was like I was splitting into two completely different people; it really had been a long while since I could be myself with someone other than Bokuto. It was nice, not having to play the cocky rich guy for the media. Publicity was part of marketing, unfortunately.
My phone rang, and my eyes darted towards it, heart leaping as I reached for it. I breathed out a sigh of relief when I noticed that it wasn't Kenma's number, just Bokuto. A sombre feeling settled in my chest as I picked up the phone; I knew what this would be about. "Hello?"
"I looked into what you asked myself, and... I found some footage of several other streets. He raced by your usual driver – almost like he was trying to beat him to it. He parked where your driver normally parks, and no matter how many cameras we check, his face is completely covered." I leaned back in my seat, frowning. "The license plate had been removed, so we can't trace the car, either." I closed my eyes; my Spidey-senses had been right, then.
Of course, someone of my position always had to look out for ill-intentioned people who were looking for money or ransom. I'd never had to worry about anyone but myself before, but if news got out that I had kids... I shook my head. I'd asked Bokuto, who was the head of a security company to look into the car I'd almost gotten into.
It never hurt to be careful, even if it was only a dull suspicion; turns out that this time, it paid off. "What do you think it could be?" My eyebrows furrowed as I stared at my computer screen, fist clenching. Although I did get threats almost daily, none of them had ever come so close, none had ever gone so far as to memorize my schedule to get there before my driver in a nearly identical car, one that would be impossible to trace.
"I'm not sure, but it doesn't look too good. You should be more careful than usual – especially with... that." I nodded, sighing as my frown deepened. "I can send over an extra security team."
I chuckled softly. "No need. I'll just call Iwaizumi or something to stay with me during the day from now on. Besides... whoever this is, it's almost impossible that they know about that anyways." I sighed again, running my hand through my hair – again. "At least, I hope so."
Bokuto chuckled on the other end. "If you take precautions you should be fine. Keep an eye out for any suspicious activity. Keep me posted."
We chatted for a little while longer before I had to get back to work, frown on my lips. I did not need this sort of stress now of all times. I let my head rest in my hands for a little while.
I should probably let Kenma know about this.
