"So let me get this straight. You live at a camp with about 150 people and just ONE person knows about your telekinesis?" Sophie said.

Yeah, I told them about camp. Not the whole 'I'm half god half mortal everyone at camp is too' thing, don't worry. I just said- well, you heard Sophie. It wasn't a lie, but not the complete truth either. And if you're wondering who I told about my telekinesis, it was Chiron. He swore on the Styx not to tell anyone, just in case (oh sorry, typo: I threatened him to swear on the styx not to tell anyone. my bad.).

"pretty much. How long have I been out?"

The  dude named Elwin kept checking me, even though I woke up what seems like 5 hours ago. "Not long. Question-when did you last sleep? Your cells are exhausted."

"Oh, uhm.. probably a few days ago?"

"Get some sleep, then! Given that you had a cold as well, it's no wonder why you collapsed like that! ..Are you sure you're okay?"

I felt a little nauseous, but I could fix that. I took a square of ambrosia and popped it into my mouth, relieved to feel the color coming back to my face. "I'm fine no-"

"What did you just eat?" I realized my mistake-only demigods and gods know about ambrosia. But I told the truth.

"Ambrosia squares. Why?" I noticed that Elwin looked at the ambrosia like it was toxic. He hesitated.

"..It's been so long since I've seen that.."

Sophie tilted her head. "What do you mean? What's ambrosia?"

"It's a healing food, the only one humans made without elves. Back when the humans lived with us, one of them showed it to me. Then, when I asked a human doctor about it, he acted like he'd never heard of it," Elwin said. A demigod, I thought. A demigod has been with elves

"Can I try some?" Dex asked.

"No!"

they stared at her, shocked. She didn't want her new friends to explode,  after all. "I.. Ambrosia is dangerous. If you eat too much, you'll burn up." They backed up so fast I almost laughed.

"I guess not then," said Biana. She turned to Forkle. "What are we gonna do about the guy who knew about her abilities?" Forkle ran his hands through his hair. "We may have to wipe his mind-"

"WIPE HIS MIND! No, you won't!"

"I understand how you feel, but-" I interrupted again. "Nope. I won't tell you anything."

To make a long story short, we kept arguing for about 5 minutes, then interrupted by the biggest burp I had ever heard in my life.
"Iggy!" Sophie yelled. I looked over. Iggy seemed to be having an interview with Ebony, my pet Sugar Glider.

"I'm pretty sure that means 'stop fighting' in imp language," Keefe said.

Forkle sighed. "Fine, we won't wash the guy's memories." He scratched his chin. "As for where you will live, I'm not sure."

"Wait, I'm staying?"

"You're an elf. You have to stay, your abilities might get stronger. You belong with us," Fitz said.

"You belong with us."

Belong. I'd heard that word so much, and yet it was never true. It wasn't true with the humans, it wasn't entirely true with demigods, now elves?

It's okay. I had to leave humans, too.

I flinched. That voice vaguely sounded like Sophie. I looked at her. "How.. how did you transmit to me?"

"I'm a telepath. It comes with my ability."

Keefe snorted."You mean your telepath-enhancer-teleporter-inflictor-polyglot ability combination?" Sophie sighed.

She turned to Forkle. "She can stay at Havenfield until we find a permanent home, right? At least to settle in."

"I should be asking Grady and Edaline, but.. if Ms. .. uh, sorry, what's your last name, Kaya?" Forkle asked.

"I.. don't know."

Dex scrunched his eyebrows together. "You lived at that camp. shouldn't you parents like, own the camp or something?"

I looked down. "I never knew my parents (partially true-i never knew my dad.). The uh, the owner of the camp.. adopted me."

they all looked down to their feet-except Sophie. She knew my "pain."

after an excruciating 30 seconds of silence, Forkle piped up.

"I'll just call you Kaya, then. As I was saying, I should be asking Grady and Edaline, but I'm sure they would be more than okay. The thing is, do you want to?"

Everyone turned to me.

"Um... I need time to think."

Dex frowned. "That's fine and all, but how are we going to get Kaya's things from that camp without being noticed?"

"Kaya can always sneak in, right? The woods were right next to the camp, so she can get in that way," Biana said. I'd almost forgotten she was there, which was weird, considering she was probably the prettiest out of all of them.

Mr. Forkle-that has to be the weirdest name ever-sighed. "I'd prefer that Kaya brings you along, but she knows more about the place than we do. Sophie can drop you off at that camp next week."

great, I thought. Now I have to break into my own home, because I'm supposed to live with these people. Oh, gods, what would Annabeth do? Get close to your enemies. Learn who they are, I thought. So instead of booking it back home...

"I'll stay at Havenfield."
