Cassidy's P.O.V
"WARREN... NO!!!!"
One second I was hugging Kurt in the cafeteria the next I was running with the others to the hospital ward to help Kurt with a bloody nose and what seemed to be a broken rib.
As I was running at a a jog , trying to catch up with the others, I saw Warren behind me pacing around the double doors of the cafe with his hands above his head. His face looked a little pink and flushed, as if he had just done an intense workout that left him needing to catch a breath. "Good job Warren, now she hates you.Everyone hates you, you'll be sent back to Germany." He was muttering to himself. I was a little bit distraught seeing him being this self-doubtful. I originally thought he was the kind of person who didn't care what people thought of him.
I slowed down to a stop. I looked at the x-men again, then at Warren. I sighed and slowly jogged back towards Warren near the cafeteria. Once I was by him I looked up towards him, cupping his soft, lightly tan cheeks. He looked down at me, with a look of self-disappointment and sadness on his face. My eyes started to tear a little , it was unbearable to see him look like this. "Let's get to my room where we can get you cleaned up then we can discuss this. The others will be in the hospital ward with Kurt so we won't be disturbed for at least until tomorrow" He nodded hesitantly in response.
I grabbed a mixing bowl as well as two chocolate brownie muffins from the kitchen (to eat after we talked, since we haven't fully eaten our dinner before Warren decided to lash out on Kurt) and Warren and I went to my room to get his knuckles all clean and bandaged up. I always carried a first aid kit there along with a bottle of rubbing alcohol just in case something happens and we ever needed it.
I told him to sit on my bed and I put the bowl over his lap. "Wait a moment" I said. I went in my the bottom drawer of my desk and found both my bottle of rubbing alcohol and my first aid kit. I saw him staring at my old Queen CD's. I was a fan, I liked to sing and dance along to their music all of the time. Not to brag, but I knew the lyrics to many of their songs by heart. "Okay, this might hurt a little bit." I said whilst coming back from my thoughts and into reality. Warren nodded hesitantly and started doing deep breathes. I took his hand (Blushing and feeling a slight smile form on my face in the process, Warren did the same) , held it over the bowl and poured a small bit of rubbing alcohol over the wounds on both of his knuckles. He made a small cry of pain, squinting his eyes closed, with furrowed brows and his nose scrunched up. Once I stopped pouring the rubbing alcohol, His body relaxed, and he started to take deep breaths. I finished it off by cooling the wound down with some water from a water bottle nearby on my dresser, and bandaging it up. As I packed and put the medical supplies away I heard Warren sigh as he laid down on my bed, opening and closing his wings.
Warren's P.O.V
As I watched Cassidy put away all of the medical supplies, I saw a ton of Queen albums in one of her drawers. I smiled, knowing that she was a fellow Queen fan. I looked up at the ceiling, trying to figure out what exactly to say to her without trying to make her as disappointed and sad as possible. She sat on the opposite side of the bed with tears falling down her cheeks. I immediately sat up and in doing so she cupped my cheeks again. "Her hands are as soft as marshmallows" For a few seconds she stared at my nose and cheeks but then looked at me in the eyes.
"Why did you do it Warren?" She asked, not breaking her glance for a second. Her eyes now even more teary than before."I was jealous, " I said in response, "I was jealous, I want to be the person to hug and laugh with you in the best of times to cry with you in the worst." I replied. "Kurt is simply a friend. At this point, he's like a brother to me." She looked down at her feet, then looked back up to me. "You do know he's the guy who saved your ass on that plane crash, though right?" She replied with a slight smirk and arched eyebrows. I chuckled. "Yeah, how could I forget. But what you might not know is that Kurt actually was my last cage-fighting opponent before you saved him, and I flew away to the warehouse that you later would meet me in." I replied with one of my infamous slight smirks that I knew drove her crazy. "really?" She asked. "I thought I remembered you from somewhere when you were saved from the jet, I just couldn't quite put my finger on it." I chuckled. I saw Cassidy then yawn, which then caused me to yawn too. You know what they say, yawns are contagious.
"Let's get some sleep, we need to wake up a tad-bit early tomorrow morning if we want to train." She said sleepily with a smile. "Sure", I said responding with a smile. "She's cute when she was tired." I thought.
She gave me a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt to borrow for the night, and I went to the bathroom to change. When I came In she was in a over sized Queen tee (with all of the four members on the front) and a pair of grey sweatpants.
We spent the next few hours, eating the muffins she brought from the cafeteria, and laughing and talking the night away. At about 10:30 at night we decided to go to bed. We both climbed under the covers and I held Cassidy like a little spoon. I soon heard her breathing level and knew then she was fast asleep. That put me at peace. I spread my wings over her, as If I were a mother bird protecting my young. I soon grew tired and my eyes felt droopy. I fought the the urge to sleep, instead trying to stay enjoy this moment whilst protecting her. "You're beautiful, Cassidy. You're more gorgeous and amazing than any girl I've ever met, I don't deserve your love and affection." With that I smiled, and soon sleep overwhelmed me.
Cassidy's P.O.V
I woke up before my alarm at about 2:24 the next morning. This was normal for me since I was a light sleeper, and have woken up many times before throughout the night in the past. I managed to prop myself up against my pillows with a yawn, outstretching my arms, somehow being able to get loose of Warren's almost Iron-like grasp. I took a glance at the bandages on his hand, the gauze pads looking a little redder than last night when I first put them on. To pass the time I decided to read until I felt tired. I grabbed my reading light that I had from inside my nightstand and the book I was currently reading, "To Kill A Mockingbird". I have read this book many times before, like all of the other books in the library. I was just at the part where Scott and Jem run into the trial as it begins. However, it was hard for me to pay attention to the book, since I was being distracted by Warren's snoring. I kept rereading the same words, the same sentences, and the same paragraphs over and over and over. I sighed whilst putting the book and the reading light back on the nightstand. I tried closing my eyes and waiting for sleep to overcome me. A few minutes into trying that, I heard Warren talking in his sleep. "No.... don't do it!" He exclaimed. "Don't do what?" I wondered. He then twisted 1 or 2 times with a look of discomfort on his face. I felt my own heartbeat start to rise ever so slightly. "Don't take her away! Please!" His nose was scrunched up and his brows were furrowed. "Don't take who away?" I thought, now getting more worried. I touched his biceps, trying to comfort him. "Is he talking about me?" "Cassidy! No!" He was. "No Cassidy... come back!" He said. He twisted over again, this time facing me. I looked at his face. I've never been so Heartbroken and wanting to help a friend more than now, even if it was just a simple nightmare. "Cassidy... I never got a chance... To tell you... I love you" He said while still facing me. I gasped silently. Was that true?
