Baekhyun's POV
I couldn't believe the nerve of him when he spoke.
"I can't risk my reputation by being seen in your dump of a house, so we’ll do this project at mine."
As if his house was some palace. It wasn’t the comment about my house that annoyed me, it was the sheer arrogance in his voice. How does he not realize what a jerk he sounds like?
But here we are, riding in his brother’s ridiculously expensive car. Chanyeol, that’s his name. And let me tell you, the guy is stunning. Tall, with a face that could make angels jealous, and dimples deep enough to drown in. Not to mention those hands. The kind of hands that could do... well, anything.
"Hey, Bacon!" Sehun snapped me out of my thoughts.
I blinked. "What?"
"You look like a lost puppy," he muttered under his breath, but loud enough for me to hear. I raised an eyebrow, still half-trying to process everything. "Get out of the car. We’re here."
He glared at me as if daring me to question him. Honestly, I was just trying to make sense of my situation. One minute, I’m convinced I’m going to strangle him, and the next, I’m actually... here.
Following him into his house, I could tell everything about this place screamed wealth. There were five cars parked in the garage, five maids working diligently in the background, and the whole house looked like it was straight out of an interior design magazine. I noticed two extra rooms upstairs for staff. Everything was polished, immaculate. A part of me wondered if his whole life was just one big, perfect Instagram filter.
He disappeared for a minute, then came back holding a dog. A fluffy dog. It looked like a cloud on four legs. And he was holding it like it was the most natural thing in the world.
“So, what now?” he asked, sitting down next to me with the dog in his lap.
I stared at him for a second, bewildered. "You're asking me that now?"
He gave me an innocent look, which made it hard to stay annoyed. "Yeah. You know, what’s the next step?"
I sighed, rubbing my temples. "Ms. Min said we could choose our own topic for the project. It can be about our dreams or passions. We have two weeks to finish it."
Sehun furrowed his brow for a moment, thinking. "Well, we could do both, right?" he said, snapping his fingers. "Like, how dreams and passions are connected. If you’re passionate about something, it’s usually because it’s part of your dream, and achieving that dream takes hard work and dedication. We could explain that—show how our passions drive us to work harder to make our dreams real."
I stared at him, a little stunned. Did he just come up with that?
"Okay, I like it," I said, impressed. "But how are we going to present it?"
Sehun grinned, standing up. "We’ll talk about it later. First, let’s eat. I’m starving."
I rolled my eyes but got up with him. Maybe he’s not as insufferable as I thought. Maybe.
