Third Person's POV
It had been a week since Tao last called, and Baekhyun was beyond excited. Maybe a little too much.
"I swear to God, Baekhyun, stop making such a fuss," Xiumin grumbled, clearly annoyed by his best friend’s behavior.
"But Min, I can’t help it! In just one week, we’ll finally see Tao in person!" Baekhyun squealed, practically bouncing in excitement.
"I feel the same way, Baek, but seriously, calm down. You’re being annoying."
Baekhyun pouted. "You’re so mean."
D.O chimed in, "Didn’t he say he was bringing someone with him?"
Now that he mentioned it, Baekhyun remembered. "Yeah, he did. There’s a good chance he’s bringing his boyfriend too." He rolled his eyes, recalling how disgustingly affectionate they could be.
"What’s his boyfriend’s name?" Suho asked.
"Kris. And trust me, don’t even stand next to him—he’s a giant."
"How tall are we talking?"
Baekhyun turned to Xiumin with a smirk. "You don’t wanna know."
Xiumin just glared at him before a loud voice suddenly interrupted their conversation.
"Hey! What are you guys up to?" Chen shouted from behind Xiumin, making him jump in surprise. The rest of them burst into laughter.
"Oh my God!" Xiumin yelped. "You almost gave me a heart attack, you idiot!" He smacked Chen on the head.
Chen groaned. "That hurt, Minmin."
Xiumin just stuck his tongue out. "Serves you right. What are you even doing here?"
This time, Kai spoke up. "Have you guys seen Sehun? He’s been missing since first period, and we can’t reach him."
"Now that you mention it, I haven’t seen him all day either," Suho added.
For a moment, the group fell silent, each of them trying to figure out where Sehun could be—except for Baekhyun. Without a word, he suddenly slammed his hands on the table and got up to leave.
Suho quickly grabbed his wrist, stopping him. "And where exactly do you think you’re going?" He raised an eyebrow.
Baekhyun gave a sheepish smile. "Somewhere. I might as well go fix something while I’m at it." With that, he dashed out of the school.
Maybe skipping class wouldn’t be so bad this time.
The remaining boys exchanged knowing looks, already guessing the reason behind Baekhyun’s sudden urgency.
---
After spending weeks with Sehun, Baekhyun had started to notice little things about him. When he was flustered, he’d leave with a blush on his face. If he was angry, he’d curse and yell. And when he was shy, he couldn’t maintain eye contact.
At some point, Baekhyun realized he had been observing Sehun more than he probably should. It almost felt like he was stalking him– not that he’d ever admit it. Maybe he was just fascinated by Sehun’s true personality. He acted tough around people, but deep down, he was just a soft-hearted kid.
Baekhyun chuckled at the thought. There was even a time when Sehun completely forgot Baekhyun was there, clinging to his older brother like a koala, pouting and begging for attention.
And right now, Baekhyun was pretty sure he knew exactly where Sehun was.
Back when they were working on a project together, Sehun had a habit of skipping school, and there was always one specific place he liked to go.
That’s where Baekhyun was headed.
