Sehun's POV

As I woke up in the morning, something felt off, but I couldn’t quite figure out what it was. Even at school, my mind drifted aimlessly, lost in thought. That’s when I decided to skip class for the third time this week– only this time, I didn’t bother telling my friends.

There’s a place that always puts me at ease. It’s perched above and behind the school grounds, offering a perfect view of the campus, the city, and the sunlit sky. The fresh air, the birds singing from the trees—it all makes this spot feel peaceful, almost like an escape.

I wish I had someone to share this moment with...

Just then, a voice called out, "Oh Sehun!" Someone was heading my way, and when I turned, I saw a small guy with a puppy-like face smiling at me. Great. Just great. And no, that wasn’t sarcasm at all.

I sighed, crossing my arms. "What the hell are you doing here, Byun?"

He rolled his eyes before settling down beside me, his gaze fixed on the view. "Shouldn’t I be asking you that? Your friends are worried, you know?" His eyes met mine, filled with emotions I couldn't quite place. It was… uncomfortable, to say the least.

Clearing my throat, I answered simply, "I didn’t feel like going to school." I lay back on the grass, hoping to end the conversation there.

He just smiled and nodded before suddenly saying something I didn’t catch.

"What was that?" I asked, confused.

Leaning in, "Hey, Sehun?"

I hummed in response, still avoiding eye contact.

"Thanks."

I glanced at him, regretting it the second I did. Crap.

"For what?"

His smile softened as he patted my shoulder, sending an unexpected shiver through me. "For showing me this place. Ever since you brought me here, I keep coming back. It helps me escape, even if just for a little while. So… thank you." His voice was filled with sincerity.

I wasn’t sure how to respond. I never realized this place meant that much to him.

"Uh… you’re welcome?" I said hesitantly.

He turned away, letting out a soft laugh.

We sat in comfortable silence, surrounded by the peaceful view, the cool breeze, and the birds’ melodies. Maybe today wasn’t so bad after all.

"Thanks for the ride," he said as he stepped out of the car, flashing yet another smile. Seriously, could he stop smiling already?

"I didn’t have a choice. You wouldn’t stop bugging me to take you home," I teased.

"I skipped school just to find you, and this is how you repay me?" He pouted. Wait, he did what now?

"You skipped school? Just to be with me?" A smirk crept onto my lips. I saw him awkwardly smile, a faint pink dusting his cheeks.

"T-that’s not what I meant! I—ugh, never mind." He turned to head inside.

"Don’t worry, Byun," I called after him, surprising even myself. "It’ll be our little secret." Then, without thinking, I winked.

I left him standing there, completely dumbfounded.

Thanks for today, Byun.
