Chapter 8 (Game and Pie)

After I finished with the Yebo and the other kids. It is now 3pm. Yebo told me his basketball competition is at 4pm. So, I have one hour before the competition. I decided to go see Mr Jiang and told him about the invitation. He is after all the principal. I don't want him to be shocked seeing me there.

"Mr Jiang, Yebo invited me to watch his basketball competition" I told Mr Jiang

"Oh Great. I am so happy. He has never done this before. This is the first time he invites someone to watch him play basketball" Mr Jiang was full of smile

"Oh, I see" I told Mr Jiang

"Honestly, he is such a good player. You will really enjoy watching him" Mr Jiang told me.

"Is there no one coming to watch him play?" I ask Mr Jiang

"Well, Old Wang is terribly busy, don't mistaken, it is not that he doesn't love Yebo but he is truly busy. Yebo's cousin Hai Kuan is close to Yebo like a brother but nowadays he is really busy too" Mr Jiang explains to me.

I already felt a pant in my heart. Yebo is really lonely now. I am thankful that I was invited. I really want to be the one to support him.

"Mr Jiang, I am going to buy some chocolates for the basketball team players, whether they win or lost. I like to reward them. I wanted to buy something nice for Yebo, can you tell me what he likes to eat?" I ask Mr Jiang

"Mmmm.....I know Yebo doesn't like sweet stuff, maybe buy something that is not sweet and something special or only for him. Hopefully, he knows that he is special to us all" Mr Jiang looks at me thankfully. I really likes Mr Jiang. He is really a nice and kind man. Not only to Yebo, he is really caring and kind to all his students in the school.

"Ok, I am going now. I will be back at 4 pm for that game" I half run and jog to my car and off I go to the nearby supermarket to get some chocolates. It took me a while to decide what to buy. Later I decide to buy him a meaty pie, because I think Yebo looks a bit skinny.

I was really rushing as I don't want to miss the match. However, they were some traffic jam which set my heart raising fast. I don't want to be late for the match. This is after all Yebo first invitation for me to watch his game.

I managed to reach the school just 5 minutes before the game start and I was already running and thus a little sweaty. I was standing at the door, I could see all the spectators getting up and swam over me. I was really getting a little annoyed because my focus is really on Yebo.

I narrow my eyes and I could see Yebo standing and preparing for the game and his face is looking towards me and trying to search for me. Luckily, Mr Jiang came and rescue me. I immediately wave to Yibo and you know what. I SAW A SMILE on his face. He nods his head signalling that he acknowledge my present. I think this makes all my hard work of running to get the food worthwhile. His smile is although not wide, but it is definitely very charming. Also, Yibo has a very beautiful dimple and I wonder if anyone told him that.

He was wearing the sport jersey which is all red for the school. Yebo has a naturally fair skin and red ready enhance the attractiveness of his appearance. Also, he has a blue strip on his arm, that means he is the team captain.

True to honest, Yebo looks dashing in his red sport gear. Especially with his fair white skin. I could see all the junior girls were all staring hard at him. However, Yebo doesn't seems to be bothered with them.

Then the other team and Yebo's team were called to the centre. The team captain do a coin flip and then they decide who will go first. Yebo took the ball and did a quick pass to his team mates and after dripping they dun into the hop. There it goes, our team score the goal. The competition beside the two school were close but I truly admire Yebo's skill. Once, the ball is in his hand and he is near the shooting area. He is mostly 100% will get the ball into the hop. I guess that is the reason why he is the team captain. His skill is excellently good. After a tedious game. The last goal was scored by Yebo even though the team is already leading. So, the final winner is Yebo's team, the school supportors scream in victory.

All, I can see was Yebo playing a fantastic game. I gave him a thumb up as he walks towards me. I gave the packet of chocolate to him. Asking him to give to his teammates, which he looks at me with surprises.

"Yebo, I brought for your team and you, You all did a wonderful job" I told him. He gave the packet to his team which won lots of happy smile on their faces.

I took out another packet and gave it to Yebo.

"Yebo, I know you don't like sweet. I brought this specially for you" I gave him the meaty pie.

The look on his face is just so precious. I would like to capture it in my memory. Not only was he surprise but his smile including his teeth were in parade.

"For..me..special..for me" Yebo asks me and I nod and give him my bunny smile.

He looks at me with so much joy that I just pat his hair and told him to eat the pie if he is hungry. His face is just so adorable. He face begins to turn a bit pink and nod as he took a big bite

"Best pie I ever eaten" Yebo told me.

"Never know you are such a sweet talker" I laugh.

"I only tells the truth" Yebo looks at me intensely.

I realised that I might have offended him, I quickly apologise to him

"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean anything bad" I told Yebo.

"There is never anything bad about what you said. I am just telling the truth" Yebo told me.

I smile and ruffle his hair and told him to eat his pie which he did.

Yebo turns around and asks me

"We meet again next week, Zan ge ge" I was too shock now by him. He wants the meeting and he calls me ge ge. Meaning, our relationship has gone one stop closer. He initiate the meeting, meaning he is enthusiastic to meet me.

How should I call my day today. A very wonderful and fulfilling day. I feel like my journey with Yebo is beginning now. I hope that there are more breakthrough.
