Making my way into 'S.R. Foods', the only grocery store store in Smith's Ridge, I go straight back to the snack section and load up on all of Gabby's favorite snacks because let's face it... she has good taste in snacks. Plus whatever we don't eat tonight, I'll just eat after football practice.

With my arms loaded with snacks I walk up to the checkout line. Looking around I see a box of canned sprite so I hopped out of line and went to get a buggy. Dropping the snacks in my buggy I head over to the rack and grab 2 boxes of sprites. I have then decide to browse through the aisles to draw out some time. Walking down the frozen dessert lane I picked up a tub of choc. chip cookie dough ice cream and mint moose tracks ice cream.

Knowing my mama, the woman cooks for an army on any given day, she will need something from the store so I texted her:
Hey mama, I'm at the store. Do you need anythin?

Within two minutes she texted back:
Yes baby can you get me
milk, celery, bbq sauce, and coffee.

Me- Ok ma see you soon. love ya

Ma- Love ya more!

I grab what she needs then go and pay for everything. Walking back to my truck, i put everything in the passenger side and hopped in the driver side. I started the engine and started on my way home. Before i reached my street the radio started to play a song that makes me think of none other then my best friend, also know to me as the girl who holds my heart in her hands, Gabby.

I have had feelings for her since seventh grade, I don't know when they actually happened but they are strong. I just keep denying it when I'm alone with my thoughts because they always end up thinking of her.

'Nobody but you' by Blake Shelton comes through my speakers and I sing, not well, the lyrics at the top of my lungs. As I pull up to the house i finish off the song then get out grabbing the bags dragging them into the house and placing them on the kitchen counter with my mama standing there pulling the stuff out for dinner.
"Hey ma."

"Hey baby." She said walking over and kissing my forehead, "Why don't you and Gabby start putting this away for me."

"Where is she?"

"Your room like usual." I nod then jog up the steps and go into my room to Gabby sitting at my desk with headphones in while she does homework, her voice fills the room beautifully as she sings in her own little world right before my eyes.

"Gabs." She jumps and takes out her headphones putting a hand on her heart.

"Li you scared me." She walked over smacking my chest. I laugh because she is so small that her hit actually tickles. "Sorry but ma wants us to go put the food away."

"Ok. C'mon" She nods and we go downstairs to start putting it away.
Right as we are finishing my mom went to find my dad, so I grabbed the opportunity to snatch a hand towel and whip Gabby in the outer thigh.

"Ow! Liam? What the hell?" Gabby snaps grabbing the second towel and whipping me back. The towel hits my bicep and stings after it leaves. A red spot now forming in its wake.

Me and Gabby go back and forth whipping each other and laughing at each other's pain.
About 10 minutes pass and my mom comes back in with my dad not to far behind her.

"What are y'all doin?" My mama questions trying to stifle a laugh.

"Just messin around ma." I laugh.
"Don't you go be hurtin Gabby, I gibe her all permission to beat your ass, if need be." My mama gives me a stern look and walks to the stove.

"So ma; what's for dinner?"

"Ribs, twice baked potatoes, and green beans."

"OMG! Mama Walker, I love you for that! Ribs are one of my favorites! Other than a nice steak." Gabby laughs.

"I knew I loved this girl for some reason." My father's deep, yet raspy voice boomed through the kitchen making Gabby jump.

"Awe thanks Dad Walker!"Gabby walks over to my Dad giving him a hug.

"Alright, you two, go on and get out of my kitchen." Mom said sweetly.
Gabby walked out of the kitchen and I followed behind her. We walked up to my room and talked about whatever as we waited for dinner to be done.
