It was almost midnight by the time Gabs and I got back to the house. The drive was almost completely silent, our breathing was the only sound able to be heard.
"Liam?" Gabby's voice was so quiet.
"Yeah?" I turned to look at her. She was sitting by the door.
"Li, we are soaked... and I'm starting to get cold." Gabby laughs quietly.
"Ok. C'mon Gabs. Let's go get dried off and warm." I open my door and hop out before rinning over to the passenger side.
I open the door and reach for Gabby.
I pit my hands on her waist lifting her out for the truck and gently placing her on the ground leaving my hands on her waist a little longer. She looks into my eyes and I see a flash of something in her gorgeous blue eyes. The porch light flipped on and it snapped me and Gabby out of our little bubble.
I cleared my throat and moved one of my hands away from Gabby. Holding hands, we walked onto the porch to see my mom sitting on one of the rocking chairs.
"Hey.." Gabby speaks softly to my mom.
"Oh hey guys. What are you doin up?" Mom looks between me and Gabby a couple times before smiling.
"Uh, we took a small drive. Then got caught in the rain." I say motioning to our clothes.
"I see." My mom looked straight out and took a small sip of her drink.
"Gabs, why don't you go in and get changed and warmed up." I look at Gabby and she looks at me for a second before nodding.
"Yeah, okay." She turns and walks into the house.
Once she is all the way inside I sigh and take a seat next to my mama.
"So?" She asks looking at me.
"I think i just confused the both of us." I laugh a little.
"What happened?"
"We danced in front of the truck and then when it started raining we started... kissing." I explained a little.
"So how did you confuse her?" My mom whispered now.
"Because I started it, tried to end it, but she pulled me into another. Then when we got here I helped her out of the truck but never took my hands off of her after." I was the one staring out into the distance now.
"So, you just gave y'all a REAL shot." My mom was smiling big now.
"I guess, in a way." I laughed.
"Now, I'm goin to bed. G'night."
"Night Mama." She kisses my forehead then heads to the door.
~20 minutes later~
I walked up to my room and changed into some dry black sweats. After 5 minutes of contemplating whether or not to go to Gabby's room I decide I was gonna. Walking across the hall, I quietly knocked on Gabby's door.
I debated going back to my room but before I could her door flew open to Gabby standing there in one of my hoodies and a pair of small shorts.
Damn! She's beautiful.
My eyes traveled down her legs then back up to her face to see she was slightly red.
"What's up Li?" Her voice was quiet but loud. Like she wanted to say something but couldn't find the words.
"Um... do you want to watch a movie? In my room?" I asked rubbing my neck.
"Yeah, sure." Gabby answered with a smile, stepping out of her room and into the hall. I stayed where I was and Gabby stepped closer to me.
She looked up at me and she gradually stood on her tippy toes. She put her arms around my neck and slowly pulled my head down placing her lips on mine.
Standing there kissing Gabby for the second time tonight felt so right. My brain shut down and all I did stand there kissing my best friend who's had my heart for years.
I pulled Gabby closer to me and deepend the kiss. I didn't know how that was even possible. A distant noise was made and Gabby pulled away smiling. She turned her head trying her hardest to hide her deep blush.
"C'mon. Let's go start that movie." I smile pulling Gabby to my room.
"Okay." She laughed quietly.
We walked back to my room and watched Ace Ventura. While gabby cuddled up into my side.
Then eventually we both fell asleep.
