[Full Name]'s POV

Being a setter has always been my favorite position in a team.

Serving left a great feeling in me like butterflies except it wasn't the nervous type, especially if you get a service ace.

Spiking every once in a while also gave me joy because of how the ball would hit against my palm. Call me a masochist, but I loved feeling the pain in my palm after a good spike. It reminded me how I'm still alive.

Blocking was great as well. Being able to stop an attack or even soften its impact has a whole different satisfaction from scoring a point through serves or spikes.

Receiving was something I'd rather not do since I wasn't as well practiced in it. I could do them but when it came down to it, I wasn't as well trained in it compared to the other positions.

The most I've trained for is being a setter and personally, nothing would ever beat being a setter.

If the world had a magical setting, the setters would be the enchanters who had the ability to amplify their team's statistics.

I could never force any of them to work as hard as I do, but with my sets, I can bring out the best that they could offer.

That was the most satisfying part for me. I didn't have to be the one getting the spotlight in the court. I was fine with being the path for my teammates to shine.

And this was it, it was time to show them that my team has what it takes to stand along the other strong teams.

"Ai-san!" I said as I set the ball to our ace.

"Osu!"

Once Aihara-san spiked the ball, it went to the middle of the court that had no one positioned there.

"Nice kill!"

I grinned as we scored a point. It was the other team's serve we got a point from which meant we were rotating. Me being placed on the upper right before the rotation only meant one thing, I was moving to the back and was going to serve.

"Nice serve [Surname]-chan!" Michimiya-san said.

I smirked. I was gonna do one hell of a nice serve.

Once the whistle was blown, I held the ball in front of me before throwing it up and doing a jump serve.

Thanks to all the practice, I was able to control the direction where the ball went and I know just who to give it to. The other team's setter.

Right now, she was placed at the back and from what I've noticed, her received aren't as polished as the others. She was still able to receive, but with the strength of the ball, I knew she'd have to take time to adjust. And that was all I needed.

"Service ace!"

"One more [Surname]-chan!"

"Nice serve [Surname]-chan!"

I catched the ball and hit it against the floor. Once the whistle was blown again, I held the ball in front of me once more and did the jump serve.

Things that are proven and tested are better than doing risky movements, so I directed it towards their setter again. I saw her frown as the ball hit her arms and bounce outside the court.

"One more!"

"Nice serve!"

The whistle blew again.

Once again, I sent it towards their setter.

"Lucky," I said as I watched the ball go up.

It wasn't a perfect receive, but it gave them a chance to reconnect. It also meant that she still hasn't gotten used to my serves since she only got lucky-- which meant only one thing, she was still my target for my receives.
