Tsukishima Kei's POV
"We're going now, [Surname]! See you tomorrow!" Suga-san said as everyone started walking out.
Everyone said their own goodbyes to her as they exited the room. Yamaguchi was the last one to go until [Surname] stopped him.
"Yama-kun, wait!" she said.
Yamaguchi turned around, surprised.
"Can I talk to you?" she asked.
"Sure," he said, nodding.
"Tsukki, are you gonna leave soon?" [Surname] asked, facing me.
"I was gonna ask something, but if you want me to, then I'll leave now," I said.
"Ah! No. But, can you step out for a while? I need to talk to Yama-kun alone."
I looked at her then at Yamaguchi before facing her again. My mind started to race with questions questioning what she was going to say to Yamaguchi.
"Okay," I said, walking to the door.
As soon as I stepped outside, I slid the door shut to give them their privacy. I didn't want to impose on what could possibly be something that only the two of them should know.
'Could she possibly be telling him how she feels?'
I sighed. It wasn't a far-fetched idea. If things go wrong, she only has two days left.
Two days. Those two words hurt my heart more than the fact that they could be confessing to each other right now.
Two days were too short. But it was enough for them to admit how they see each other.
How about me, though? Are two days enough for me to decide whether or not I should tell her how I feel?
Did it even matter at this point? I didn't want to bother her with my own feelings when she's going through too much already.
I didn't need two days to decide. This was enough.
I mattered to her. I gave her strength. I may not have her heart, but I knew I had a large part to play in her life in the short time we knew each other.
'And that's enough for me.'
The door slid open. Yamaguchi walked out looking down with a smile on his face and his hands in his pockets.
"What happened?" I asked.
"I can't tell you for now. Sorry, Tsukki. I'm leaving now."
I only watched as Yamaguchi started walking to the elevator. Once he was inside, I turned to [Surname]'s room and walked inside.
"So, what did you tell him?" I asked.
"That's a secret," [Surname] said, placing a finger on her lips. "Come here."
She patted the seat next to her and as always, I sat on it.
"I bet you have some questions," she said.
"Yeah."
"Then go ahead," she said, leaning against my shoulder. "Ask."
"Why didn't you ever mention the surgery?" I asked.
