18. Preparations for finals.

You look around the gymnasium. The boys were working hard for the finals too. The girls were also the top in high school and have gone to nationals a lot. Its not just the boys who are strong.
You and the boys sometimes have merged practices, where Tendou teaches you and Taichi more efficient ways to block.

I am a third year so if i want to get scouted, we need to make it to nationals this year. This is the only chance i have.

You knew you couldn't be as good as a blocker as Tendou and Taichi but you were one of the best for girls. Ushijima and Riko were doing spiking drills while Aido and Yamagata were receiving.

Everyones working on their strong points.

'Dont worry y/n, you'll go to nationals, im sure of it.' Tendou winks at you.

'What the hell dude. You have a better chance than me.'

Tendou looks up at the ceiling. A singular cold tear slithers down his cheeks.

'Actually, Im quitting the volleyball team after this y/n.' He says quietly.

'YOUR WHAT?! TENDOU YOU HAVE SO MUCH TALENT ITS A WASTE TO THROW IT ALL OUT!' You scream at him.
'But this is my choice y/n, and i have a different plan instead.' You look up at him, almost all his hair gel had disappeared because of his sweat.

'Im sorry, I snapped.' You say.

'Thats alright. You're known to do that anyways' He pats your head softly.

'Lets get back to practice.'

He continues to help you block the balls.

Suddenly, the younger coach (i forgot his name) runs into the gym.

'Boys volleyball team, in the finals, you will be versing Karasuno. They beat Aoba Johsai.'

The shorty actually did it. They might lose.

'We wont lose. I'll win for you! Also Shrimpy actually made it y/n!! And that scary setter we met too!' Tendou says. He smiles.

'I was getting sick of Aoba Johsai. Although Ushijima might be a little sad because of oikawa'

'Ive given up on that bitch.' Ushijima says.

'PPFFFFTT BWAHAHAHAHHA.' You and the rest of both teams laugh.

'I gave up ages ago Ushijima!' You say.

'As for the girls, you will be facing Date tech.'

Fun. What fun.

Date techs girls team was very strong. They were almost the same strength as you. They also had a chance of winning.

After a few minutes of hearing information from the coaches, it was time to go home.

'The finals are tomorrow i cant wait!!' Tendou says punching the air.

'Ours is the day after.' You say.

'You'll do well, I'm sure of it' you smile.

'Tendou-senpai!!' You see a bunch of girls wave to Tendou.

'Um is it alright if you go home by yourself today?' He asks you.

'Oh um yeah sure. Bye'

'See ya'

You start walking home with a million things on your mind.

I feel like Karasunos gonna win against Tendou. What if Date Tech became really strong they have an amazing new blocker I've heard. What Tendou doing with those girls? What if he's cheating on me. He cant cheat on me i gave him everything. He cant leave me now...

You make it home and you have a wash and eat dinner. You study for a while and then lay in bed as you drowsily fall asleep, hoping to be rid if all the thoughts in your head.

The next day:

You wake up quickly. You quickly put on your clothes and rush out the door.

I have a feeling this match will be interesting.
