I was in the living room watching tv while waiting for mama to arrive. It was almost 7 and she still wasn't home. Nagpadeliver na nga lang ako ng dinner for us later when she arrives. I was busy watching when I heard someone opening the door. I knew it was her so I went inside the kitchen to prepare the table for us to eat.

"Ma, kain na po tayo."

"Okay." She said as she walked in.

Where did she go? She looked tired.

We sat down at the table and started eating. She usually starts the conversation once we're at the table but now she's too silent. She must still be confused as to what happened last night. She was left alone in the house while we were both rushed to the hospital.

"I know the things happening right now might be too confusing but I promise you, whether he's our family or not, I'm getting the justice and peace papa deserves, what our family deserves after all those years." I said instead.

"I shouldn't have trusted him." She started. "On that very day we lost your father, I remember him sending your father a message to meet him. Yes, they were brothers but I always felt the tension whenever they occupied the same room."

"Did he really have to go that far to get what he wanted?"

"Ambitions bring people to do things are unexpected and, in our case, it took your father's life away."

Natahimik ako dahil dun dahil sa kasamaang palad yun nga yung nangyari.

"Pero honestly I slightly feel pity towards him... I guess he did these to feel the satisfaction and completeness na siguro hinahanap niya ever since. I knew what he felt before, I was somehow friends with him and that's how I met your dad, he has a very tough personality but he actually just wants someone to feel proud of him. Maybe he felt like he wasn't doing enough until he reached this point. He was good and outstanding actually but your father was something else. They were both smart and strategic but Samuel wanted to live by his own rules and to do things on his own so he somehow drifted apart from his family and that brought your father to be more in favor of their parents."

Tahimik lang akong kumakain habang nagkkwento siya. After that, we silently finished our food and while I was cleaning up after we ate when I remembered something I've forgot to ask.

"Saan ka pala galing?"

"I went to visit your dad, even if he can't be with us anymore, he still deserves to know the truth." She answered pero ramdam ko ang lungkot sa tono ng pananalita niya so I went near her to give her a tight hug.

"He's always here with us and I know he'll understand what we're about to do. We're doing this for him at para na rin sa ikakatahimik ng isip natin."

She hugged me tight in return. "I know... "

"Are you sure about this?" I asked Angelo who looked like he made up his mind.

"I can't find any other proof that can point him as the suspect of the case, I have to do what I have to do."

"I actually think we have someone else but if you're wiling to do this, it could help."

"Sino?"

"Do you know how to contact your dad's personal assistant? He'd be a great help and I feel like he could actually be an accomplice."

"I'll try asking around. Do you really think he has anything to do with this too?"

"I saw him before and as you've said he's someone your dad trusts. He can't just do things alone. He has the power, so he might as well have used it."
