CHAPTER 12

"I really can't believe you're dating already! We've been rooting for you and Nick from the very start." Addison exclaimed. It was the day after Christmas.
"I know right?!" Charli said.

I chuckled at both of them.

TIME SKIP

Holiday season was over. It was back-to-school again.
"I'm already outside." Nick said over the phone.
"Yeah, I'm going outside already." I said as I hung up the phone and took my bag. I went outside and went to Nick.
"Hey. I miss you." Nick said as he hugged me.
"We saw each other yesterday." I said.
"I know. I still missed you." He said.
I chuckled at him.
"Okay Nick. We're both gonna be late if you don't stop hugging me." I told him. He sighed and ended the hug.
"Alright. Get in." He said as he opened the door for me.
"Thanks." I said and went inside. Then he went to the drivers seat and started the engine before he drove to school.
"Come on." He said as he opened the door for me.
We both went to our first class, which was math. Then we part ways after math class since we have separate class. Then after some classes, all of us met at lunchtime.
"This is boring. We have classes again." Tony said.
"I know right. I wish it was always holiday." Chase commented.
"Scarlett, are you staying later at the Hype house?" Addison asked.
"No. But I'll stay there until ten, if you like." I told her.
"That's awesome!" Nick said. They all giggled at him.
"Oh, Nick." Avani said.

When our classes dismissed, Nick and I went to his car and went to the Hype House.
"Okay, do you want me to cook for dinner?" I asked them.
"If it's okay for you." Ondreaz said.
"Alright. I'll cook some fish fillet." I said as I went to the kitchen.
"Let me help you." Tony said.
"Thanks." Tony and I cooked some chicken fillet for all of us. After that, Avani and Thomas prepared the table.

"Dinner's ready!" I called. They all went to the dining area and sat.
"As expected, it's great!" Alex complimented.
"Couldn't have done it without Tony." I said.
Minutes later, someone rang the doorbell.
"I'll get it." I said. I jolted from my chair and went to open the door.
"Hey..." She said. Confusion struck me.
"Hi..." I said. What is Amelie doing here?
"Is Nick there?" She asked. And what does she want from Nick?
"Uh, yeah. I'll go get him. Why don't you go in at the moment." I said. I let her in then I went to the dining area.
"Who was it?" Kouvr asked.
"Nick, someone's looking for you. I think her name is Amelie. She's at the living room." I said.
"Amelie?!"
"Did you say Amelie?" They all asked.
"Yeah. You know her?" I said.
"Y-yeah." Nick said. They all stood up and went to the living room.
"Amelie..." Nick said.
"Hey."
"What are you doing here?" Nick asked. It looks like he wasn't pleased to see her.
"I want to talk to you." She said.
"You can say it here." Charli said.

"Hey Scarlett?" Ondreaz called.
"Yeah?"
"Don't get mad." He whispered.
"About what?" I asked.

"Nick, I'm sorry. Can we start over?" She said. I looked at Nick who was looking at Amelie.
"Start over?" He asked.
"Yeah. Our relationship...." She said.
"Wow..." Nick said.
"Amelie, were over a long a time ago. I've moved on from you a long time ago." He said.
"And just so you know, I have a girlfriend already. Have some shame coz she's here." He said. He went to me and held my hand. Amelie looked at me for seconds before he turned her gaze to Nick.
"Oh. I see." She said.
"Now, if that's all you want to say, the door is open for you to walk away." He said.
"Alright." She said forcing a smile.

She looked at me for a second before walking out.
"I guess you two have to talked." Thomas said. I faced Nick.
"Let's talk upstairs." He said. He led me to his and Chase room.
"Amelie is your ex?" I asked.
"Yeah. We had a relationship for seven months. Then I broke up with her when I found out she was cheating on me." He said.
"I see."
"And you know her before today?" He asked.
"Yeah. That night when I first went to the Sway house. Nessa introduced her to me. Well, not directly. She just told me her name." I said.
"I'm sorry i didn't told you earlier. I didn't know you know her." He said.
"It's okay. It's not really your fault." I said.

"Do you wanna go home already? You look like your tired." He asked.
"Yeah. I am."
"Okay... I'll drive you home." He said. He took his car keys before he went down with me.
"Hey, I'm gonna take Scarlett home."
"Yeah. Be safe."
We both went to his car and drove home.
I went out of the car and so did he.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"I wanna stay with you."
"They're waiting for you." I laughed.
"Let them." He said. I giggled while we went inside.
"I'll go wash my face and get ready to bed..." I said. Nick nodded.

Nick's POV:
"Can I go to your room?" Scarlett nodded before he went to the bathroom. I went to her room and looked around. She has many pictures of her family around. She must have been so close with them. Too bad I didn't get to meet them. There were especially many pictures of her and her brother.
"That's my brother Luke." She appeared at the door. She went to me.
"Do you visit them?" I asked.
"I never visited them since summer." She stated. There was an act of guilt on her face.
"Tell you what? I'll go with you when you visit them. Let's go out this Sunday then visit them. Is that alright?" I said.
"Yeah. Thank you."
"Alright. Let's get to bed. We still have school tomorrow." I said. She nodded.

She went to her bed while I payed beside her. I put my arms around he shoulder and held her arm. More like played with it. Then as my arms and eyes went to her wrist, I saw something.
"Do you cut yourself?" I said sitting up. So did she. She pulled her arms back.
"Nick..."
"When did you cut yourself?" I asked with anger and worry. She just stayed silent.
"Answer me Scarlett. When did you cut yourself?" I asked again.
"A day before you Nessa went here...." She quietly said, avoiding my gaze.
"Why? What happened that night exactly?" I asked.
"It was nothing...."
"No, this isn't nothing. Don't try to avoid this question again, Scarlett. Tell me what happened." I said.

"It's....." She started.
"I met someone from my highschool..." Tears were threatening to fall from her eyes but it never fall.
"She... She told me I was the cause of my family's death. Of course I wasn't affected by that but... She told every possible horrible things to me...."
"Oh, Scarlett..." I hugged her. Then she cried.
"Why did you believe her?"
"Because it's the fact."
"No Scarlett. Don't believe such things. Your family loves you."

We played while she hugged me, crying. She just cried and cried until she fall asleep. When I look at her, she is so fragile that one wrong word, she'll break.

"I promise you, I'll never leave your side." I said as I kissed her head.
