That Thing That I Needed [Nick Austin]

CHAPTER 11

The next day, I woke up around eleven. I looked at the calendar. It was finally 24 of December. I sighed.
I went out of my room and went to the bathroom to fix myself. After that I went to the fridge and find something to eat.

~When are you gonna say yes? You like him. I can tell.~

The words that Ashton said kept on repeating my mind. I took a deep breath and closed the fridge once I took the loaves of bread. I ate it at the counter quietly. Then my eyes shifted to the pieces of presents I wrapped last night. It was for the Hype House. I've been thinking wether or not I should go and spend the Christmas with them. I mean I've only been friends with them for how many months and I'm already spending my Christmas with them. I don't know why I think that is wrong... I sighed again.

Four in the afternoon, I took a bath. I spend my thirty minutes just soaked in the bathtub. I was done by four. I put on my clothes for the day. It was quite simple. Really simple. But for me, it's special. I wore the red dress that my brother Luke gave me last Christmas. It was also the first time I wore it. I put on some light makeup and did my hair. Then I wore my flats to match my outfit. It was around six thirty when I was all done. I was about to go out carrying the presents, when I heard a car honked. I took a look at the window and saw Nick's car. I saw him went out of the car and waited for me at the hood of his car. I took a deep breath before going out and went in front of him.

"Scarlett..." He said as he saw me.
"Hey." I smiled. I've made up my mind.
"You look beautiful..." He said that made me blushed.
"Thanks."
"What are you holding?" He asked.
"Oh this? It's the presents that I bought you all."
"Okay. Come on." He opened the car door for me. I thanked him and went inside. Then he went to the driver's seat and drove.

"We've been waiting for you, you know?"
"You do?"
"Of course. We've been expecting you since the afternoon but you never came. So I thought I'd come and fetch you."
"Really? Thanks." I said.

When we arrived at the Hype house, everyone came babbling at me.
"Where were you? We've been waiting." Thomas scolded me.
"I'm sorry I took too long to get ready." I said as I laughed.
"You are totally rocking that outfit! You look beautiful!" Addison said.

"Oooh, are those presents?" Alex asked. I chuckled at him.
"Yes. Your presents." I answered.
"Scarlett, guess what?" Tony said.
"What?"
"We..... Cooked food!"
"Really? Good for you." I said as I chuckled.
"I cooked the pasta and Ondreaz did the chicken. Charli mad some Graham cake with the help of Kouvr. Dixie ordered pizza. Thomas made fruit salad. Alex bought the ham. And Nick grilled some barbecue."
"I guess you didn't need my help." I said.

"Come on. It's time to party!" Alex yelled. We all chuckled at him.
We had fun all night. We played games, listen to some music and danced. I'm not really much of a dancer so I'm just sitting here on the couch watching them.
"Come on Scarlett!" Charli said as she and Chase danced to the rythm.
"No, dancing is not such a good idea for me." I told them.
"Oh come on." Chase pulled me up. Charli laughed as Chase started dancing silly.

After that, we heard the doorbell.
"They're here!" Dixie yelled.
"Who's here?" I asked.
"Sway boys. We invited them over."
I gasped at Nick.
"For real?" Then they came in very loud.
"Wassup!!!!" Bryce greeted. Madison and Nessa and Olivia were also here.
"Scarlett." The girls hugged me.
"You're just in time. We're just about to have dinner." Thomas said.
"That's awesome. We also bought some foods." Kio said.
"Jaden and I cooked it." He added.
"Great. Let's go and eat. We're already starving." We laughed and sat at the table with all the delicious foods displayed on the table.
Nick sat beside me while Nessa sat on the other.
"Good thing I brought all your presents." I told them.
"Aww, you bought some for us?" Anthony said.
"Of course."

After we're done, we washed our own plates and went to the living room.
"Just how many of us are here? It's too crowded." Addison laughed.
Around eleven forty-five, they were all excited for the opening of presents.
"Okay, let's go give our presents one by one and then we start to open a present given by a certain someone one by one." Josh suggested.
"Cool." We all gave our presents to everyone. Then we waited until twelve.

"Merry Christmas everyone!"
"Merry Christmas!"
"It's Christmas!!!" They all yelled.
"Let's first open my presents." Bryce said. We all agreed. We started to open the present Bryce gave us.
They were all great. Bryce gave me a phone case. It was beautiful. Nessa gave me a bracelet, same as hers. Madison and Olivia worked together and gave me paired clothes. The sway boys all gave me clothes except for Kio who gifted me an album of Taylor Swift. I was really happy with that. Thomas gave me a teddy bear, which was cute by the way. The Lopez brothers gifted me a coupon on Zark's. Eat all you can for a whole year but with the same regular prices. I couldn't be happier. Alex and Kouvr gave me a pair of black sneakers. Chase gave me a cute top while Charli gave me pants that matched with Chases gift. They must have talked through it. Avani gave me a pair of slippers. I laughed at it when I opened it but I was thankful. Addison gave me a hoodie. A pretty black hoodie.
"Okay, this is yours." Nick said as he gave me his present for me. It was a small box.
"Don't open it until you're alone." I nodded at Nick.

"Okay, my turn. I want everyone to open it after I gave you." I told them. They all nodded.
"First of all, Nessa." I gave her the present. She then opened it, revealing a necklace with the letters S and N. I gave all their presents one by one.
"A cat collar?" Thomas said. They all laughed.
"It's for Artemis really but that cat is yours so...."
"Fine. I'll accept it with all my heart." He said and laughed.

Lastly, it was Nick's turn.
He noticed there weren't anymore gifts inside the bag I was holding.
"I'll give it to you later." He smiled sweetly and nodded.
"Hey, that's not fair. No keeping of gifts!" Jaden said as he laughed.
"Jaden, let them." Madison said.

After that, we all did our own things.
"Hey, come with me at the balcony." Nick said. I followed him at the balcony.
"Have you opened my presents?" He asked.
"No." I said as I took out the present.
"I'm gonna open it now." I said. I started tearing out the present. It was a box. When I opened it, a necklace was there. It was shining, beautiful.
"This... This is... Thank you Nick." I said.
"Here, I'll help you out it on." He said as he took the necklace. He put it on my neck.
"Thanks."
"So...."
"About your gift... I didn't bought you one."
"Oh. That's okay."
"No, but I have a gift for you." I said.
"What is it?" I didn't talk for a a moment before finally speaking.
"Yes."
"Yes? What does that mean?"
"It means that... You can't court me anymore. I love you and were dating."

Gosh, I'm not good at this. Nick smiled and hugged me.
"Thank you." He said as he hugged me. Then he faced me.
"I love you too." He said.
"Let's go inside." He said. He held my hand and we both went to the living room where everyone is. All their eyes went to us. Then once they saw our hands, they stood up and the girls started to squeal while the boys cheered.
