Ondreaz went inside with the soup.
"Thanks bro..." I said as he put it on the desk beside the bed.
"You're welcome... So should I stay or...."
"I'm fine Ondreaz. It's just a fever." Scarlett said.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah." Scarlett reassured. Ondreaz nodded before going out."You know... You should stop hiding anything from us..."
"I-im n-not... C-can you turn t-the AC off?" She was shivering again.
"The AC's not turned on... Are you okay?"
"It's c-cold..." She said gritting her teeth.
"Okay... Uhm... You need to eat your soup. Your stomachs empty." I said and handed her the soup. She didn't take it.
"It's my hands... It's w-way too cold. I can't move them properly." She said.
"What? Fuck.... Okay... I'll just feed you." I said.
"No, it's a-alright. You don't need to—"
"Scarlett, please!" I said.
"Let me..."
"Because I won't stop until I know you're safe."
"Now eat." I said. I feed her the soup until there's nothing left."Fuck... I forgot the drink!!" I groaned
Then I heard Scarlett laugh. I looked at her.
"Did you just laugh?" I unbelievably asked.
"I-im sorry... It's just... You remind me of my brother. Everytime I'm sick, he panicked...." She said as she laugh. I've never seen her laugh. Not even once. I smiled.
"That's.... Great... I'm gonna get you some hot chocolate." I said.
"Thanks."Scarlett's POV
My phone rang beside me. It was Addison calling.
"Hey...." I answered.
"Hey, Scarlett.... Uh, Charli, Avani and Dixie's with me. We're going to eat somewhere tonight. Tony and the boys are going somewhere too. Do you want to come with us? We could meet at the plaza..." Addison said.
"Addison, I would love to... But, I can't." I said with a little hint of sadness at my tone.
"What? Why?"
"I-i have a fever. But don't worry, I'm alright." I assured her. I saw Nick came in.
"Are you sure? Do you want us there?"
She asked.
"No, I'm really fine. You and the girls go and have fun. Don't worry about me... I gotta go."
"Alright... Stay safe." She said and hung up.
"Who was that?" Nick asked.
"It was Addison." I said. He nodded before giving me a hoodie.
"What's this?"
"Put it on. It'll lessen the coldness." He said as he put their chocolate on the desk."Who owns this?" I asked as I put the hoodie on.
"It's mine."
"Oh... Thanks." I said and drank the hot chocolate.
"Are you feeling any better?" Nick asked.
"Yeah... Thank you."
"No worries... But from now on, no skipping of meals. Alright?" I just stayed silent.
"Scarlett... Promise me... You got me worried. Like really really worried. If this happens a—"
"I won't, Nick. I promise." I cut at his words. He sighed.
"I'll let you rest." He said and went out of the room.Okay... What just happened? NOTHING... Right? What was that? Okay, Scarlett... Don't overthink things and situations too much......
But, di he mean it? Was he really worried? I shrugged off the thought and went to sleep. The next day, I woke up feeling better than ever. But I didn't really feel like going up and out of the bed so I just stayed on the bed. After a couple of minutes, Nick went in with a tray of foods.
"Glad you're awake. How're you feeling? Is the headache still there?"
"Actually, no..... I'm feeling better... Thank you for taking care if me." I said, a little embarrassed. He nodded with a smile.
"Anyways, here's your breakfast. Tony and Ondreaz helped me cooked them." I looked at him confused as he sat at the chair beside the bed and handed me the tray.
"I thought you don't cook?..." I asked.
"I don't. I searched it up in the internet. I just felt like it was unfair since you cooked us breakfast yesterday. So here it is." I smiled at him.Did I just smiled?... Huh? That's so unlike me...
"Thanks..." I said and started to eat.
"How was it?"
"It's pretty..." I stopped, teasing him.
""It's bad isn't it?" He said with a downed face.
"No, it's great." I said and ate continuously.
"That's good to hear..." We didn't talk until I was finished with my food.
"Everyone's in the living room. Wanna join them?" Nick asked. I nodded.
He grabbed the tray from me and let me out of the room first.
"I'll just put these in the kitchen." I nodded and went to the living room where everyone is doing their own thing.
"Scarlett! Oh my God, I thought we'd lost you!" Addison came running to me and hugged me tightly. So did the other girls.
"Addi, chill. It was just a fever. It's not like I'm gonna die." I said chuckling."Uh, is that yours?" Kouvr asked, pointing at the hoodie in wearing.
"No... It's Nick's. He let me borrowed it last night since I felt really really cold." I honestly said.
"No fair!" Kouvr said as Nick came to the living room.
"What is?" Nick asked.
"You let her borrow your hoodie while us in the other hand... You don't even let us touch them." Kouvr pouted.
"Actually, I gave it to her." Nick said as he sat beside Dixie, who was texting someone. Gave it to me?... I wasn't informed..
"You gave it to Scarlett?!... Uh, you can't fool us Nick. You'd never. And besides, that's your favourite hoodie." Dixie said, looking at him.
"I'm not fooling all of you. I'm being serious.""Okay enough talking about Nick's Hoodie." Avani said.
Later that night, Nick drove me home. Though Ondreaz volunteered, Nick insisted
The while ride was quiet yet comfortable, which I was thankful for.
"We're here..." He said as he pulled the car over in front of my house.
"Oh... I said with a hint of disappointment in my tone.
"Why?"
"Nothing... I'll be going. I'll see you tomorrow at school." I said. Before I can open the door, he stopped me.
"Scarlett wait...""What?" I asked.
""Uh...." He said, fiddling with his fingers.
"You'll be okay... Right?" He asked.
"Yeah... I... I'll be fine Nick. What made you think that?" He sighed before letting out a groan.
"I... I was fucking worried about you yesterday. I was scared like a shit head. I didn't know what to do. And if Ondreaz wasn't there... I would've lost my head right away." He said as he chuckled.
"... Then I heard you laugh... The first time... It wasn't forced... I felt like that was the first time I saw the real you..." I just stayed quiet waiting for Nick to say more.
"I don't know why I feel this but... It just feels right... Scarlett... I'll pick you up tomorrow here. From now on, I'll drive you to school and back home.""What?" I said dumbfounded.
"No, it's alright. You don't have to—"
"But I want to Scarlett...""Anyway, it's getting late. You should go inside and sleep early." He said.
"Uh... Y-yeah. T-thanks for the ride." I said and went out of the car and went inside my house. All night, I couldn't sleep. Nick's word been keeping me awake. I didn't know how i managed to sleep but I did anyway. I woke up around quarter to six. I went to the kitchen and sat at a chair instead of taking a shower and get ready to school. I was fully awake, my mind wasn't. I jumped out of the chair when I heard the doorbell rang. I looked at the clock and saw it was ten minutes past six. I fixed myself and went to open the door, revealing Nick, who was holding a paper bag.
"Good morning... I bought you breakfast.
"You're early... Too early." I chuckled as I let him in.
"My aunt and nephew wasn't home. I figured it's too lonely and went here early.. And I was worried...." He said.
"Bout what?" I asked.
"That you wouldn't eat your breakfast..."
"Mm... Well you're not wrong about that." I said."Scarlett...!" I laughed.
"I'm just kidding. I'm gonna go and get ready." Nick nodded at me before I went to the bathroom. After I've done everything, I went out of the room with my school bag and out it at the couch. Then I went to Nick who's waiting at the kitchen table."What's up with you and Long sleeves? I've never seen you wear anything sleeveless." Nick asked.
"N-nothing... I just... I-im just not comfortable wearing sleeveless clothes." I said.***********
Hey guys!!! So I just made a mistake. Supposedly, Addison only has one s and I thought it had two. I just realized it in the middle of this chapter so I changed.
I'm not gonna be rewriting the chapters before this to change the ADDISON that I spelled incorrect but I do hope that you can continue reading this further until I finished this book.
Live y'all 💙❤️.
