'im going up for my meeting' Dianne shouted from the bottom of the stairs just after dinner. with being in isolation our meetings had turned to face times, and Dianne had one in 5 minutes with her managers. 'okay call me when your done, i'll get a film ready for us.'
as soon as Dianne disappeared upstairs I began my plan, for Christmas last year I bought dianne a cardboard igloo more as a joke but unknown to me how this year would turn out today seemed like a good time to use it.
i ran to collect it from my office where it had been living since December and brought it to the living room and began to build it. I grabbed blankets of the couch and pillows from the spare bedroom and began to make the inside comfortable.
we had a pile of fairy lights by the side of the tv so I untangled them and strung them around the outside, I brought a light projector and put that in between some pillows so it was lit up multi-coloured inside.
in the kitchen I prepared snacks for us both and of course two glasses of red wine I took them into our den along with the card game uno, something me and Dianne took with us when we were on holidays, truth is today me and Dianne should have been flying out to Italy. we would have finished our tour and Dianne's rehearsals for pro tour wouldn't have begun yet, it would have been the perfect little reward for all mine and especially Dianne's hard work.
instead we were stuck inside for who knows how long, so tonight I was going to show Dianne even thought its not quite Italy we can still have fun and a relaxing time together stuck inside.

'joey my meetings done' I had finished preparing the igloo around 20 minutes ago and was sat waiting for Dianne to be done. as soon as I heard her I went upstairs, 'coming'.
as i got to our bedroom door I pulled my camera out and began filming, I walked in and saw dianne laid on my side of the bed, I reached my hand out for her, 'come on, come with me'
'joeee what are you doing' nothing just close your eyes, 'joe I've got to go downstairs I cant close my eyes' she laughed
'its fine just close your eyes and hold onto me'
once we reached the bottom of the stairs, we stood in front of the igloo 'open your eyes' Dianne opened her eyes and her face was like a child on Christmas 'awww joey this is so cute'. she walked towards the den and began to crawl in
i followed her and passed her her wine and snacks, ' it not quite Italy, but you deserve some rest, even though your not touring you still working really hard with all of the lives and all the work your doing for next year and I love you, and wanted to show you by building a childs play house' we both laughed.
'thank you joseph I absolutely love it' she leant in and placed her lips on to mine
after playing games drinking and just generally talking my laptop was up playing a film on netflix
diannes head was on my lap I was stroking her head not really listening to the film, I could tell dianne was getting tired 'do you want to go up gorgeous'
'hmm' Dianne mumbled into my stomach 'come on you lets get you to bed'
i sent Dianne upstairs while I turned off all the lights and locked the doors, I left the den as it was for tonight

once i was in bed Dianne rolled over and I pulled her closer to me I rubbed my hand up and down her back which I knew relaxed her
'thank you for tonight joey, I really enjoyed it' Dianne placed a kiss onto my lips and I kissed her back passionately
'im glad you enjoyed it, you deserved it my love' I continued to rub small circles onto diannes back sending her to sleep.
