A dramatic pause hung in the air like washing out on a line. A simple breeze would make the clothes sway and blow, much like the situation before Luke. Brit had one disastrous idea after another, and Luke didn't know why he'd trusted her to find a place to lay low. Add in the fact that she couldn't work out why Lance was so angry he glowed as red her sword did when she equipped it.

Luke recalled the last time he set foot in the basement and he didn't remember it looking so beaten up. Large gashes were indented into the walls, lights were busted, most of the furniture had been removed, and even some parts of graffiti remained on the right wall. It looked to have once spelt "you suck" in large black letters. A big fight must have broken out in the basement and luckily for Lance and his guild, the computers and other electronical equipment remained untouched. Their precious guild banner didn't get the same treatment. Torn into strips, it hung loosely on the wall like streaks of black noodles.

All of the damage in the guild was the handiwork of Brit, back when she stormed the place and rescued Luke six days prior.

"What are you two doing here? Leave before we make you!" Lance pointed his golden sword outwards. His hand shook and the blade trembled. He was scared; scared of Brit.

"But we are friends! Friends don't kick friends out." Brit's face remained clueless, she couldn't figure out what had gotten into Lance, nor could she even remember who he was.

"Friends?" Lance raged as he smashed his sword into the basement floor. "Friends? You have almost deleted us three times! You tore up our guild, you tore up our black market hideout, and aside from that, you set fire to the school, which led the police to finding out about my operation because the stupid fire spread to the football pitch. I'm lucky the police have no idea who set up the market and won't find out before Avilien. We are far from friends. Nagori, get ready with heals and don't screw this up." Lance didn't look at his sister and remained focused on Brit.

"Hey, it isn't my fault your things got wrecked. Besides, we are all going to Avilien soon. If you guys hadn't come after me that time, I would have only had to nearly delete you twice. I forgive you for attacking me, by the way, so that makes us cool. I saved this dump from a bone sabre and technically saved your lives while doing it, so I'd say you owe me." Now Brit started to remember who they were and where she was.

"Get out of my home! You have no right to be here, you fruit loop. Before Avilien goes live, I swear that you and his beta class will be in my possession," said Lance with confidence as he started to calm down.

"Why would the two of you return here?" Anna asked. Not as angry as Lance, she demanded an explanation for this intrusion.

Rather than let Brit screw the situation up more than she had already, Luke thought it would be best if he explained.

"Mock works for the government and is in the Court of Bones Guild, like Nate. Besides that, government officials are also in the town after me and my dad. They are also connected to the Court of Bones. We have the police and agents trying to get us and they have a level-fifteen unholy Paladin and a lot of other dark classes in their ranks.

"My stepmother works with these agents, so I cannot return home, and Brit can no longer return to the hotel she stayed at since the agents and police would follow her there. We have nowhere else to go." Luke suspected he had said too much and that it wasn't a good idea to tell them they were fugitives.

"Priceless!" Lance laughed, "Get me my phone, Cissy; I'll call the cops right now." Lance smirked and held out his hand.

"A level-fifteen unholy Paladin? Mock working for the government...and the Court of Bones are in this town? Are you sure?" Nagori strolled away from the group and over to her desk. The wooden enchanted staff she once wielded vanished.
