After returning to health, Luke accompanied Brit on a walk to the cafeteria. It would be the second time that week he had been there, thanks to her and her abundance of wealth. Nebs rested safely inside his phone as he'd popped him through the screen and tried not to be so concerned with his best friend's wellbeing. Squeeks had given him the "all clear" after climbing out Brit's phone for a brief moment, and told Luke that Nebs just needed some rest. After that, Brit placed Squeeks back into the phone and back onto silent mode.

At the other end of the school, squirreled away in his office, Semor Mock sat watching CCTV footage from behind the bleachers. Around the school, a total of two hundred and thirty-two cameras had been installed by him and other operatives. These cameras were so small that even a button would be considered huge in comparison. They were tucked into objects or places no one would think to look, to help them remain concealed. Besides the government agency Semor worked for, only two other teachers knew of their existence—one of them being Ms.Lait and another being Mr. Borid, head of year eleven and the only person to come across one of the devices, so Mock had to make sure he stayed quiet.

Even Lance and his Guild of Daggers were unaware that they were being spied on at all hours of the school day. Semor knew about Nate's arrival before they did and what the guild had discussed with him. He knew far in advance that Nate was in town, and now he knew that Nate was seeking him out to delete him in order to move up the ranks in the guild. Semor just found it out of character from one of his star pupils who'd he taught and raised like a foster son. The two had drifted apart in recent years, to the point where Nate had vanished. When he applied for Court of Bones, Semor couldn't express his happiness and asked the guild master to let him in, a decision he'd started to regret every minute of the passing day.

Fascinated by Brit's amazing ability to destroy Lance, Anna, Cissy, Nagori, and Luke in a single swing, Semor found himself rewinding the footage over and over. He was perplexed that Luke had a game guide and thought it might be worth mentioning, but his GTs showed no level or class for Luke so he wasn't too concerned. What was concerning was that Nate had allowed this girl to grow strong—not as strong as himself, but strong. Eating the boxed lunch that Ms. Lait had brought to his office, Semor thought about his course of action. He had used the Guild of Daggers for long enough now, and had set aside a nice fortune for when he did come back to the real world. Lance had had a great idea about an augmented reality black market and Semor used that to shift his own products. The pressing matter at hand now was whether Nate would follow through with the deletion of Islington or focus entirely on him.

"A level-ten Necromancer approaches our school," said Zeult from under the desk with a hiss.

Game guides like Zeult had all three game-guide categories that guides fell into, due to having three separate heads, each head having either sensory, observation, or knowledge skills. Observation had been the one class Nebs couldn't recall, and it allowed a game guide to see hidden items, traps, or laid-out plans. Knowledge allowed game guides to know more and be more intelligent than others, much like Squeeks, and sensory game guides were like Nebs and Amilia. Although game guides fell into three specific areas, they had to master those senses. Zeult, being corrupted, had mastered two of the categories—sensory and knowledge. The third head struggled with observation and wasn't that good at it.

Semor flipped the CCTV footage towards the school's entrance and indeed did see a commotion going on. Girls of various ages swooned over a young male figure that smiled and laughed with them. Every step he took towards the school, he had to take two steps back due to the girls' over-eagerness to grab at him. Semor hadn't seen Nate in seven years, not since he'd left the school and Islington to pursue other dreams. Before he'd left, Semor was going to come clean about whom he worked for and induct his young protégée into the government fold.
