Abigail's POV

"Alright! Stop!" Markoutski was on the floor in front of me. Bones, Duke and Gold stood back. AJ kept going.

"AJ!!!" He kept kicking Markoutski. I grabbed him by the back of his shirt and threw him back. I put myself between AJ and Markoutski. "That's enough!" I gritted my teeth. He wouldn't look at my face. "AJ. Look. At. Me." I grabbed his face forcing eye contact.

"He's had enough!" AJ sighed before bowing his head in defeat. I looked once more at the red AJ before turning to Markoutski.

I grabbed his hair making him look at me. "Now, what happened to you today?"

"I was attacked by the prisoners." He groaned out.

"Wrong." I smiled sweetly. "You fell down the stairs outside the yard." I looked into his eyes.

He looked back in fear. "Now what happened?" I asked again.

"I..... I fell down the stairs."

"Good boy!" I patted his head. He groaned in response. I started to walk away but stopped. "One more thing," I walked back and knelt beside him. "Do you ever want to touch me again ?" He shook his head. "Will I sit back and let you try to humiliate me?" He shook his head again. "Do I have more authority than you when it comes to the other prisoners?" He nodded. "Will you take this out on Blain for what we did?" He shook his head. I reached down and grabbed his shirt.

"Good. And if you ever disrespect me, Blain, or anyone else in this prison." I paused to let out a chuckle. "Next time I'll be the one hitting." I roughly released his shirt before walking to my cell. I could feel everyone's eyes on me but I continued to march away.

"What are you all staring at?! Get back to what you were doing!" I heard Bones yell to the other prisoners.

I walked to the furthest bench. Sighing I bent over and rubbed my face with my hands.

"You alright there Chief?" I looked up to see Bones looking down at me with concern.

"Can I be completely honest with you right now Bones?" I asked looking at my fingers.

"Of coarse you can Chief."

"And it won't..... Won't make you think differently about me?" I hesitated.

"Chief," he sighed as he sat next to me. "You could tell me you killed the president and I still would call you Chief." He chuckled gently shoving me causing me to chuckle.

"I..." I sighed. "Iii..... When...."

"You feel guilty." He said. I looked at him in surprise. "I have a daughter around your age so I am pretty good at reading girls. Look Chief, you wanna know why I've stood by you all this time? Because I've seen you. The real you. You are someone who has had a rough past, I don't know what is in that past and I don't need to know. For someone with a dark past, you have hidden it very well. You keep a lot of things inside. Well if you ever need to let it out, just let me know." He patted my knee before standing up as Gold and Duke walked towards us.

"You alright Chief?" Asked Gold as they got closer.

"I'm great!" I laughed as I jumped up. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Bones chuckle.

"So Chief," asked Duke " how does it feel to have everyone afraid of you?"

I chuckled. "I wouldn't say everyone is afraid of me. More like respect."

"Yeah, respect that is fueled by the fear of getting beating to a pulp." Laughed Bones.

"Exactly!" I laughed. We let the conversation drop as AJ came over.

"You okay, Chief?" AJ asked.

I sighed. "Why is everyone asking me that? I'm fine, City Boy."

"Really?" He scoffed. "We're back to the nickname?"

"We never left," I smirked as I stood up and walked away. I could hear Bones, Gold, and Duke laughing as they jogged to catch up with me.

"I don't get it, Chief" mumbled Gold.

"What don't you get this time Gold?" I chuckled.

"The kid. Why are you still mean to him when he stood up for you today?" I stopped walking.

"Because," I sighed spinning around. "He needs to learn the rules around here. I didn't ask him to specifically stand up for me. Hell, everyone stood up for me. That doesn't mean I'm going to totally change and become little Miss Perfect Attitude. Plus he has secrets. And you know how I feel about secrets." Bones nodded in agreement.

"Wait, what secret?" Ask Gold.

"And why does Bones know?" Duke asked.

"Because," I sighed looking around before reaching up the back of my short and pulling the folded piece of paper out of the back of my bra. "He found this in City Boy's cell." I handed Duke the paper.

I held my breathe as Duke unfolded the paper. "What the...." Gold started.

"Why does the new kid have a picture of you?!" Yelled Duke.

Bones and I shushed him. "Hey keep it down moron! We don't want anyone, especially City Boy to find out we took it!" Bones whisper yelled.

"I don't know. But I'm gonna find out." I said gritting my teeth.
